I have seen in some posts people suggest taking tums or Tagamet to help either making the effects of opioids last longer or make them feel stronger. Can someone explain if any of this is true and why? I would think the more acidic your stomach is the better for breaking them down. I have also heard you should eat fatty foods before taking them. Again, I would think an empty stomach would be better. I?m curious why people offer these tips?

Opioids thrive in an alkaline environment; and so a bit of baking soda or certain antacids will increase stomach ph, which can speed up absorption and increase BA%; this is especially important for say methadone, which is highly variable and ph dependent; indeed an increase in urinary PH can double the biological t1/2, while a decrease can cut it by 25-50#; empty stomach is best 90% of time, though with say, Opana er fatty foods can increase plasma levels- do some research, learn and max your buzz
