I was really blown away by Lady Bird, saw it the other night. I was the only person in the theater unsurprisingly. I hope it catches some wins!

those are all my picks for who i think will win.

i've not seen as many of these as i usually would have by now, so i don't have a good sense of the 'should'ves' :)

If you are near a Regal theater, they are showing all of them in February. They are here anyway.

It will get a few I hope. I don’t think it has a chance for best picture or directing (smaller indie films can win but not unless they have a strong social or political message) but I would be satisfied if Saoirse Ronan got lead actress. I don’t really get all the noise over Francis McDormand in three billboards.

Perhaps Gerwig could get directing if the voters were wanting to make a statement about female directors. I think Laurie Metcalf should run away with supporting actress but people fucking love Allison Janney. So idk.

I have seen so few of these this year, I really have no idea what I want to win what yet.

Missed the very last hour. I was enjoying it though. I liked Sufjan Stevens performance of "Mystery Of Love" from 'Call Me By Your Name'.

Glad Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell won for "Three Billboards...", great movie!

I found out Jimmy Kimmel shouted "Hit 'em with the Hein!" at the very end of the show. That's a Howard Stern reference. Funny.

Am I the only one who thinks Frances McDormand is annoying as fuck? Ugh.

had the chance to catch up any yet? You can watch some of them through amazon now.

No, still haven't seen any (I think) of the films that were up for an award. I'm so totally out of it atm with films lol.

I found the results extremely satisfying. Roger Deakins is arguably the best cameraman in the world and it is wonderful to see him finally recognised after 13 or 14 nominations or so over the years.

I am also really pleased to see Sam Rockwell honored, although I have not seen '3 Billboards' his work has been outstanding since I fist discovered him in 'The Green Mile'.

She was a badass in "Three Billboards..."
I missed her acceptance speech though.

Did you hear about the nutjob who stole her Oscar? Then he posted video of himself with it on Facebook acting like he won it.

Lol yeah. He was just telling people he was a producer and everyone believed it was his.

i got 16 of 18 picks correct. not bad :)

it's crazy that this is his first oscar!

She was annoying at the Globes, too. She acts like one of Kate McKinnon's characters on SNL but I can't quite place it.
