Fentanyl-laced "Xanax" Alert-- East Harlem, NYC (Friday, January 26th)

White football-shaped tablets being sold as "Xanax" in East Harlem are being reported to be laced with fentanyl.

Several ODs have been confirmed in connection with this batch so if you or someone you know gets their benzos from the East Harlem area, PLEASE be careful of these fake pills and be sure to have naloxone handy in case of accidental exposure.

If you live in the area and would like to be able to test for the presence of fentanyl in your benzos, please feel free to visit our local harm reduction agencies New York Harm Reduction Educators (East Harlem) or Washington Heights CORNER Project (Washington Heights) for free fentanyl test kits. Both locations also supply free naloxone and OD prevention training.

To view the full warning, please visit the alert here.

Also FYI for anyone interested-- fentanyl test strips are also directly available for purchase at the official BTNX site here. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about how to use these strips for drug checking purposes.

Fentanyl test strips are also available through DanceSafe, who bluelight has worked with since almost the beginning to help people be able to test their drugs to see if they are what they're advertised to be, though a gc/ms test is the only way to be absolutely certain what a substance is.
