What would you say if somebody asks about your job, but you make money the "bad way"?

You can't tell that you have no job
Any creative ideas?

I often have this problem as I had my own gym business but due to a serious mental health problem I lost it all so when I bump in to people who know me and ask 'what are you doing now?" I usually just reply by saying I'm in between things and looking for the next opportunity. It's not ideal but it stops more questions and awkward answers.
