I get really bad indigestion every few weeks, it's strange as it seems to cycle and come and go.
I thought I had a stomach ulcer and thankfully didn't, but I do have a hiatus hernia (A muscle is pushing out of the opening to my stomach and the hole is 3cm wide!).
I was told there are 8 different ways they can fix/cure it but the most effective one is only 40% effective, so the doctors told me they weren't going to do any, apparently they never do for this condition.
They told me to just continue with the lansoprozole and gaviscon for life.
I'd recommend lansoprozole over omeprazole as it's seems to be stronger and faster acting.
Also get some prescription gaviscon tablets (Not the liquid, It's vile!), they're better than the OTC one's.
Milk will sooth your indigestion in short-term but you'll get bad acid rebound!
Read the book about water by the Iranian doctor Dr Batman, it's great treatment for indigestion. He was imprisoned during the Iranian Revolution and only had water to treat a patient who was suffering from intense indigestion.
His studies lead him to believe that indigestion is a salt imbalance and that we just need extra water.
He recommends for indigestion/heart burn downing a pint of water, followed by sipping a pint of water.
