Does any one know is wild Lettuce is a anticholinergic?

I have also read it is a adenosine agonist which is interesting as these have a lot of Potential and have not been looked into enough in developing a safer sedative relative to marketed ones maybe.

Also does anyone know if it contains Tropane alkaloids. some people have claimed this but I can not find any scientific study suggesting this.

Yea I can't find anything other than a "trace of hyoscamine" in samples.

Zargari A. Medicinal plants. Tehran University Publications 1978; 3: 223–8

Sounds like a standardized form or derivative would be helpful in agitation in patients with Alzheimers:

yes as it is a Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. i have also read that hyoscamine is not responsible for its psychoactive affects

It's only weakly active. So, an effective extraction of alkaloids would require an unusually large amount of plant material.
