I've found medical use of oxymetholone pretty interesting as it is revered by bodybuilders as a very potent drug and it's one of the few drugs that has been used in much higher doses in clinical settings than in performance enhancing settings. It has a common and eemingly misplaced reputation as being extremely liver toxic among other things.

I had access to a large medical database at my old job and pulled dozens of studies detailing dosages of 100-250mg/day for anywhere from 6 months to three years - primarily treating anemia patients.

Don't have those studies anymore but figured I would link a few here that I have found and see if anyone had any others or personal experiences. Anadrol is used in fairly large doses by many pros and probably going to try a higher dose run myself here soon.

Oxymetholone ameliorates insulin sensitivity in maintenance hemodialysis patients: a randomized controlled trial.
Men and women given 100mg per day -

Bone marrow treatment failure - women started at 100mg per day, men started at 500mg per day

The PDF of this one has therapy at 150mg per day for 30 weeks with no virulization in females

This one is 100-150mg administered daily for 16 weeks to men and women

I have a selection of papers on anadrol that I'll try to fish out later, particularly pertaining to its use in elderly women. I used them to convince my Mum to do the occasional cycle to maintain muscle mass and bone density now she's in her 60s :)

Damn that's interesting to hear! What was the dose/duration and results/side effects like for her?

I wanna say isnt the therapeutic dose like 1-3mg/kg of bodyweight? I saw a study of people running over 300/day anadrol for anemia over the course of 6 months or so.

Yeah the guideline I've seen listed is 1-5mg/kg...can't even imagine 500mg a day for someone my weight. Honestly though I may try it just for shits and to see if I can snag a 650-700lb deadlift PR

If bodybuilders complain about side effects even at 50mg, these patients taking 300mg must have a real bad time.

I mean most of them probably felt like shit before treatment. So even marginally feeling better or just different could be a plus

My Mum disliked 20mg (which is what we put her on first) because her hormonal rosacea came back. We dropped it to 5mg and she was ok with that. She added about 5kg (11lbs) lbm over 6 months (she lifts 3x/wk) without changing diet (cutting back on wine a bit maybe), which really pleased her as everything (including her skin) tightened up, although she's already in great shape and looks much younger than she is anyway. There is absolutely NO WAY she could have handled 300mg lol. I keep meaning to dig out all those studies too.....
