This study has now closed – A pilot study – Everyday attention and drug use: for better or worse? A web-based survey

Thank you to all who participated and contributed their comments on this pilot study, which has now closed. This was a pilot of the drug use questions only and the full study should be available in January/February next year, so please look out for it then!

I am a PhD student at London South Bank University and I am researching the off-prescription use of modafinil (also known as Modalert or Provigil) and methylphenidate (also known as Ritalin). Based on the results of my first study, a further study is required to understand in greater detail the off-prescription use of modafinil and methylphenidate. We first need to get your feedback on our questionnaire to ensure that we are asking the right questions. If you are over 18 years of age and have experience of using modafinil and/or methylphenidate and can spare 15-20 minutes, please complete this online pilot survey (link found below) – you would be contributing to the creation of this questionnaire. This pilot survey is completely confidential and anonymous so no details that could identify you will be recorded. This study is not restricted to any country and welcomes people from all countries to participate. This pilot will be open for a two week period between 11th November 2017 and 25th November 2017, after which the questionnaire will be revised and, pending ethical approval of the changes, will become live for you to contribute should you choose to. Our findings from the final version of this study will contribute to informing research on the extent of use of these drugs within the UK and internationally and will form the basis of a journal article that may be published in a peer-reviewed journal.

The study has been approved by the School of Applied Science Ethics Committee of London South Bank University (ref. SAS 1723).
