Sexual Sensitivity after Opioid Addiction

Been off opioids for a few weeks now. How long does it take for the sexual sensitivity to go away? I feel like I'm 13 years old again - and not in a good way! Is this something that will just come back or am I going to have to "work at it" on a daily basis?

It'll balance out. It takes a while. I was horned up for months after quitting buprenorphine.

Lol yeah give it a few months or so. I remember when I was on opiates I could fuck for hours, sometimes I would just give up. The girl I was with would get really frustrated and I'm pretty sure she took it personally even though I told her I was on a load of opiates. When I finally got clean it was like my first time again. Literally took less than a minute sometime. Time and practice lol

I think it depends to a degree on the DOC and nature of the habit.

After spending 2-3 years on methadone, my libido was fucking insane for about 12 months following cessation of all opioids. Both amazing and fucking horrible (more horrible, as I had a healthy sex drive while using opioids, but things got absolutely uncalled for after getting off).

I think I noticed my libido coming back with a vengeance around day 30-90 of abstinence and then continuing to be uncomfortably high for at least 6-9 more months.

It did balance out again eventually though. Over a year later and it's far more controllable/appropriate. YMMV with the timing. Like CH said, it just takes time.

4 months or so off morphine. Still horny as hell. I'm sure its wearing on my wife too. I'm in my late 50's with the sexual prowess and stamina of an 18 year old. It was fun for a few days and now its just old... Must stay away from internet porn...
