30 mg morphine sulfer ER

Quick run down, have a good, or maybe bad depending on how you look at it? to opiates. I have been prescribed everything from Norco to oxycotin through out the years. Now waiting for a hip replacement I was prescribed the morphine ER, which is one never taken before, I don't care for the ER part prefer IR as I think it works better. My question is if crushed would they work more like a IR? Just presuming the coating is what plays a part in ER. Just don't want to do something without knowing better what I'm doing. Thanks for any info, don't think any of the rules didn't mean to if so
