I was started on Tapentadol 50mg tabs today for pain mgmt. I have not tried them yet.
I'm aware of the serotonin and norepinephrine effects, and it seems Tapentadol is a weaker SRI than tramadol.
I use kratom and dxm daily for pain management in doses of 15 grams and 45mg respectively twice daily.
Any thoughts or experience on Tapentadol and dxm in therapeutic dose as potentiator? It seems it should still potentiate the MOR effects.
On that note, and I'll read up. but how does Tapentadol go with kratom? IME I have to have at least a 4 hour window between kratom dose and traditional opioid dose to have an effect from the opioid.
Tramadol seemed to synergize nicely with kratom though I could not tolerate the intense serotonergic effects. I do hope Tapentadols serotonergic activity is less than tramadols as is purported.
I have a plethora of opioid and general substance use experience, Rx and otherwise.
