Jade worlds, pinpoint black -
your arms were strong,
but tampered with.

You'd play me music
on your electric guitar -
the look in your eyes was soothing.

Your body, positioned and poised
on the unmade bed -
my arms, and life, in your hands.

Pale against the pale,
smiling, I loved you in my veins -
the chemicals, the chemicals, the chemicals.

A tree of life burst on my skin -
I carried a nighttime sky,
and you.

You popularized euphoria,
hurried through my blood,
and now I can't forget.

I will try to turn my head,
to run and continue running -
maybe toward the sun.

Farewell, young genius,
I do not bid you ill will;
remember the laughter.
