Positive Exercise 4 Health, Mental Health and Addiction vs. Pure & Free

took the dog for a long walk this morning, went for a long walk with my sister to the city.

i want to make taking bella (my parents dog) for long walks every morning, it was lovely and she loved it too

i started thinking today about something the woman and the last workaway i was staying at talked with me about, she was saying running isn't a very good exercise because it releases adrenalin, the hormone of fight or flight, because evolutionarily we run to escape from something. so its not great for maintaining a calm/balanced mind.

she was into walking as a form of exercise, although it requires more time investment, i am seeing her perspective more and feel i agree with it now, although when we talked i was arguing defending running as a positive exercise.

My dog loves to go out but I think he's becoming old pretty fast now. Next month he'll be 12 y/o. My wife's daughter stayed with us for 18+ years which is great expect that they get really tired as they age. We all love dogs. My son does know life without dogs and the same applies to me! :)

Anyway, other than walking I'm taking the day to rest. We can always use the treadmill later.

My home backs up against a vast area of Bureau of Land Management high desert. Had a great walk with my beloved dog this morning through a system of arroyos. He loved it. I loved it. Now he's asleep, lying across my legs.

I'm going running every night. After midnight, when nobody else is around, I run down to the beach. I recently got rejected by a crush I had because she was already taken, so I decided to devote all of the time we'd usually spend talking to self-improvement with strenuous physical exercise. It helped with the embarrassment, but now I'm chasing endorphins.

I can't afford to take a single step backwards. I was putting in one-hundred percent effort into my career up until the beginning of this year (2017), whereupon I began coasting along again without caring too much. I need to remind myself regularly that I cannot take it easy on myself; I'm not married, I don't have a family and I've yet to buy my dream farm. Until then, if I relax it's just going to delay progress.

Had a pretty busy day. Walked and ran (Treadmill), now I am relaxed.

Will eating pasta once a week put on weight?
What about eating white bread every day?

^ The best advice I can give you is to visit a Nutritionist. Gaining weight is not easy and you need to do it by gaining muscle mass. White bread is not as good as darker ones. As it has more sugar and not so much good fibers. That won't help as much. It's never just one thing.

Exercises together with a balanced diet, 5 meals a day - meaning that you need to eat between meals. Yogurt, integral food, fruits, fiber, protein, nuts, oat, etc.Just to sum up, but everyone is different.

Either way, you should visit a nutritionist. It's very complicated to simply dictate a diet for you as it depends on a lot of factors, like age, weight, height- plus all of your habits, drug interactions, goals. Etc, etc.

Went for a long walk today. Feeling good.

I went for a 1.7 mile run today. Running and exercise at least helps me breath better (feels like I'm suffocating sometimes) due to anxiety and a certain injury. It's also a good way to try and expel some of the toxins I put in my body the night before.

Need getting back to ecerise and meditation. I really need change my lifestyle, this will lead to nowhere. but on opioid wds I feel so week I cant even walk.

You shouldn't really exercise until the withdrawals are over. With me, it took few weeks until I started to slowly take short walk. It's also important that you find something you enjoy doing. A hobby that can take your mind away from all the sadness.

Yes I really enjoy playing games and read books, have always my favorite things to do. I think playing games or reading books is great way to get youre mind of from drugs. Last time when I quit I found games to be very good while recovering from opioid use.

I also wait to get my body ready for walking I live near forest and it gives good piece to walk there. There is studies that say that even just 15 minutes walking in forest gives you good mood.

Also need to get back to my Buddhist practices, it has the answer for almost every thing, from sex addiction to drug addictions and depression or anxiety,. Mindfulness meditation gives so good feeling after a while better then you ever can get from fake state of happiness that drugs give you.

My drug use is always connected to work. I haven't worked for years while sober, working with other people have caused great anxiety that have lead me to start opioids. My mind is so screwed I lived in great hate for people for years, I really hated people and wanted them to suffer. But actually I was the one who was in great suffering from constant hate.

Thanks to pregabalin and GBL I have great taste for food I eat lots of different foods whole day, I was taking speed for one week and didn't eat almost anything. But I know I have to quit GBL and pregabalin soon, or I get Wds from them too.

Thanks for support and advices, you are good person and give me new trust that there are actually good people who want to help you.

I know I have done lot of things that are really bad and my hyper sexuality have made me sex maniac I need to work with that as I have had strong addiction to porn and sex for my whole life and speed made me even worse also it was one of the reason why I used lots of opioid to suppress my libido. I think I need to do some LSD to sort that thing out.

I really need to take better care of myself after way too much drugs and alcohol this year which resulted in a psychosis three weeks ago. With that in mind I have decided to start to compete in running again and are currently training for a trail half marathon which will be held in about three weeks. Ran 13 kilometers on local trails earlier today with decent feeling. I love the combination autumn + trail running.
