Just started my Valium taper from 10mg down to 9mg and will hold for 2 weeks. Facebook forum has advised me my next cut should be 10% of the 9mg, not down to 8mg as advised by the Ashton manual..Any ideas or experiences on this please?

What does your Doctor advise? If they are prescribing you the 2mg tablets to split then they might know a bit more about it than people on Facebook.

The difference is so small (1mg v. 0.9mg) that I doubt you would notice the difference between the two.

In the end, tapering isn't a "one size fits all" process - guides are only that, guides. You have to determine for yourself how much you can realistically reduce your dose.

i have had 3 doctors who know nothing and my main one actually asks me which size I want each visit
