I'm trying to cut down on the fapping, I've tried 2 blockers but don't work and don't block any porn sites? Any ideas how they work and set them up? Dunno what I'm doing wrong. One is called pornblocker and one called buddy filter on iPad using safari. Any ideas?

You can change the search settings on the Google search engine to "Safe" mode. That eliminates some nude sites that come up in search results.

There is a website that is devoted to your goal that was in the New York Times recently. I think it's called "fapstronaut" or something. The site probably has technical guidance about using blockers.

What's wrong with wanking? Best way to avoid getting prostate cancer in later life!

It's okay in moderation, but some men tend to get addicted and over do it, porn blockers might help even though I should learn to cut down myself.

Looking at porn is compulsory for some people - it is practically a psychological condition.

my suggestion is: rather than support the mindset that you are unable to choose to not watch porn if you don't want to

cultivate a kindness with yourself so that you feel less compelled to escape your own thoughts, feelings, sensations.

addiction to me is an escape from what is happening now. what is happening now may not be happy or joyful, but you can be curious about the sadness that lurks beneath and in that contact with your own hidden fears and anxieties, have faith that in there lies unconditional joy, some sense of rest from the pursuit of more and more captivating distraction.

I agree, i am so used to jerking off before taking a shower that the times i take showers without jerkinf off beforehand i feel so distant in the shower.

yeah so if i am complusive whats to stop me uninstalling a porn clocker ffs

learn to say no to yourself. saying it is complusive and pretending you have no control is bullshit. how does anyone giev up cocaine or mephedrone? one day they say "i had enough of this shit" and they just stopped

This isnt a sex, love, relationship question? This is a technical problem with a computer. Well, whatever. I mean, you're looking at porn despite trying to stop, so then what's to stop you from just removing the porn blockers? You applying tools to help does no good given you lack self control.

I have no idea what his situation is. I got the impression that he was looking for something that would make viewing porn inconvenient to the point that he wouldn't want to bother. If he wanted, he would do as you say and uninstall from his computer or go to the library and fondle himself to the pornographic images he finds on the public computers. IMO, men look at porn because they don't have a partner who is satisfying them sexually. The OP should get a better partner, and then his problem will be solved.

Why bother with a blocker? If you're not sitting down at the computer to do some work or something worthwhile then get your fat ass off the chair and go do something else. Force yourself to go do something else, go for a walk or something. Devil makes work for idle hands. Stop pissing about on the computer.

Sometimes people just need a kick in the right direction.

I use an app called Freedom to block casual access to websites I don't want to view, especially useful when you need to be online/researching for something more productive.

While I don't use porn, you could certainly set it up to block porn sites as well.

I am a female and I seem to have trouble with that sometimes as well. I know first hand about wanting to stop something and not being able to. Could you have someone you trust set up parental controls with a password? That would give you no control. The struggle is real. Good luck!
