Okay... Worked all weekend on a server job. Now its time for the last round of this crap. Really hoping these last drops are not as bad as the last round. Anyways... Dropped from 60mg to 45mg today. Should get the smack down starting tomorrow. Yippee!!!

I did see my doc and have an unfilled script for extra if I want to drag it out. Going to wait 5 days between drops.

I am weaning down from fenanyl i just wanted to stop in let you know i am reading your posts and they are helping me .... sounds like your doing good ...this is really hard when a person is a chronic pain person ....i called our methdone place and was told the same as you, that i should work with my doctor...and i feel the same as you about us not being any diffrent than someone trying to get off heroin its really sad... we should be able to get help too ..
 
Thanks for your post Noma... Us chronic pain folks are really screwed. We are just as addicted as anyone else but without the resources others have available. In alot of ways we are waging two battles. The addiction and the return of the pain. I'm in pain daily now. 2 herniated disks that cannot be operated on unless its an emergency. Bulging disks through out. Severe DISH. Etc. You get the idea.

With loses of insurance this year I believe we are going to have an epidemic of pain management folks in the same boat.

Hang in there... Biggest advice is to go slow. Once the withdrawals come you will want to hurry and get through it. Don't hurry like I did on my second set of drops. It was really bad. Better to suffer less over a slightly longer period of time than to get hammered.

Quick update... got some restlessness tonight. Minor so far. Took a Xanax to chill. Don't expect to be sleeping to much tonight. Morphine has such a short fuse lol. Did not take my body long to realize something is missing. Will check in tomorrow.

Look into kratom, it saved my life getting off 300mg oxys a day. If anyone is interested liok up <snip>on facebook awesome prices there.

Today was up and down all day. Minor/mod withdrawal symptoms. Over the hump on this drop.
 
Hi Mia... thanks for the reply. For me I do not want to trade one addiction for another. That and the time for chemical help is over as I am almost done with my taper. Im on 3 15mg MScontins now and will drop to 2 on Monday. Withdrawals at this point are not that bad.

Quick-update... day 3 of drop. Feeling sore but well enough to work some and exercise. Dropping to 30 on Monday.

Dropped again today... Feeling it already. Down to 30mg. 2 15mg mscontin. Getting close. Hard to believe im at 1/10th of what I used to do daily. Two crappy days ahead then it chills out a bit. Lucky me lol. Will check in later.

Got the hammer on day 2 of the drop. Whole night of restless body syndrome. Pins and needles. Ringing. Etc. My back is killing me this morning from all the movement. Still have the pins and needles going on with some light ringing. On the down hill side. I did not expect this being so close to the end. Going to drop to one on Friday and none on sat. That should be the last round of this crap and im morphine free....

I did not expect my bodies response to be this severe with this low of a dosage. I'm on 2 15's. Almost nothing. Oh well... Thats how it goes.

Yep got gabapentin. Just trying to finish this the way I started. I hate gabapentin from taking it years ago. But... I think I hate withdrawals even more lol. May start it tonight. Just blows me away that my body is putting on this much of a fight at this low a dose. Right now its just the pins and needles radiating out from my spine to my extremities.

Guess we will see if my will power trumps the need for gabapentin tonight. Its only pain and discomfort... Im used to that.

Just went out and did a arizona hell ride. 100 plus degrees, mountain bike, withdrawals... Not much fun. Still feel like crap. Went and started the gaba... I want to sleep tonight.

Ended up taking 600mg of gabapentin at 730 last night. 13 years ago that would have put me out without any issue. All it did last night was amp me up. It was also really slow to kick in. At 2 am I was still wide awake with restless body crap going on. Thought about taking more gaba but instead took a xanax. Hour later I was sleeping like a baby. Slept 5 and a half hours straight though. Feel much better now. Normally xanax does not make me sleepy it just chills me out. Together with the Gaba it worked like a charm. I do feel a bit hung over but that will pass...

One more drop and im morphine free. Starting that friday. Will be clean saturday and in full withdrawals sunday. Lucky me...

Did the stop yesterday... 18 hours now without morphine. I'm clear of it. Morphine freaking Free. First time in 10 years. Waiting for the last bit of hell to be done with. I'm doing gabapentin for the next 3 days. Its at least letting me sleep.

2 months of Hell....

Thanks Simco... Been 30 hours with no sleep now. Withdrawals are weird. Not getting a full spectrum like on some of the other tapers. Allergies, Headache, ringing in ears from time to time. severe pain in my spine, Full body restless crap but only moderate. I feel amped. minor pins and needles. This is not like any of the tapers. Took a break from the gabapentin thinking that was it. Was not and restarted it back up. Doubled my xanax. I should be knocked out. Instead im wide awake and in pain. Hoping this breaks today and I can finally sleep.

Any thoughts? just going to keep riding it out.

Hit the wall about 7 hours ago. My back pain hit the breaking point. My multiple herniation's and bulging disks were just in agony. Large amounts of gabapentin and xanax were doing nothing. I was out of my mind in pain. I would nod off for a couple of minutes and the pain would instantly wake me. 40 hours of pain finally broke me. Took 2 15mg MSIR's. Slept 6 hours woke up still in full blown withdrawals.

Had some coffee. Called in a favor. A buddy of mines wife is in the med field. When I called he told me I was idiot for not calling sooner. He asked if I knew what his wife does? No? She is a drug rehab specialist at the hospital. She called me and said with 10 plus years of use I needed at least a small dose of suboxone for a while to give my brain a chance to adjust and rewire itself. That and something non narcotic to knock me out... Not xanax. So a script for suboxone 2mg twice daily is waiting for me about 15 minutes away. She even waved visit fees in the future...

Looks like the calvary finally arrived...
