We’re happy to re-introduce a social thread in Other Drugs :) Please use this as a platform to socialize, share your life story/struggles, and get to know other members of the community.

What does this mean? OD is all about harm reduction. OD’s broad scope allows for a wide variety of questions, but here we want to give OD regulars a chance to get know each other beyond HR. However, past abuse of the social thread led to its ultimate demise. This means that we will be policing the social with ZERO tolerance for material that is against the Bluelight User Agreement. Some off-topic discussions that are disallowed anywhere else in OD will be allowed in the social thread.

What you should post in the social thread: Any swimmers in OD? I used to swim competitively, but my muscle pain has been making it more difficult lately.

What you should not post in the social thread: SWIM can’t wait to slam this fire I picked up today
We don't allow the acronym SWIM (someone who isn't me). We don't allow promotion of IV drug abuse.

Again, ZERO tolerance for breaking any rule outlined in the BLUA. You will be infracted for flaming, promoting dangerous behaviors, or any other breach of the BLUA. If you haven’t read the BLUA, click here. If people abuse the social thread, it will be sent back to the dark realm of the archive.

Cannabis and gabapentinoids are nothing short of a miracle cure for my hangovers.

I used to take ambien to help me sleep through my hangovers, but big surprise, daytime use of z-drugs can lead to very questionable decision making XD
 
I shouldn't really use gaba based drugs, especially hungover. Too much idiocy and terrible desicion making. Much prefer cannabis, water, fruit and seeds/nuts.
Always helps me recover quicker and feel better.
 
OD Social? I've heard of the lounge, thats way before my time though. Gabapentinoids do lots of good things for me. Problem I have is i go crazy with them so they loose their "magic", and it doesnt matter how long I abstain, its never the same :( I wish I could take phenibut for the first time again
 
I just don't get it. Ever since I started using BL again recently I have noticed a lot of talk about gabapentin and all the ways it makes people feel.
I have NEVER felt anything other than a MILD decrease in neurological pain from taking gabapentin in doses ranging from 300mg's to over 2000mg's. Is this unusual? Because there seems to be tons of people on BL who feel that gabapentin makes them feel anything from an increase in benzo effects to full blown euphoria. People barely talked about it back in like 2010 when I was last more active on BL.
I guess I'm wondering how common it is for someone to feel absolutely nothing from GP and what it means for me. Like...do I not process Gabapentinoids the same as most people?
 
They're both pretty similar to phenibut, right?
I've only ever had pregabalin a couple of times, but phenibut is a classic "take it or leave it" drug for me.
I can have piles of it sitting around and no desire to touch it, and when i do take it, i sometimes wonder why i bothered.

Jamesbrown, I know exactly what you're saying. I too am at a loss when it comes to what Gabapentin has to offer in the way of recreation. I mean, I guess it helps augment stress in some manner and maybe, (emphasis on maybe) helps with social anxiety, but it's only ever helped me sleep for a few hours. Outside that it's caused diarrhea, which is its own problem. I have tested this over and over under different circumstances and yep, it's the gaba. I have to be in a really bad way to even consider taking some. Given the choice, I'd much rather take a benzo, at least there's more to be gained.
 
Phenibut is definitely an interesting drug. Some people love it but I feel absolutely nothing from it.
 
Last time i took phenibut i went to a gig and felt pretty much sober, but my friends all said "what are you on?"

To me that's the definition of a lousy drug; you look far more wasted than you feel.

I'd read a lot of reviews about it, mostly underwhelming, so I've never tried it. Lately though, I've been reading more and more positive reports so I just ordered a sample of the HCl. I've noticed that reviews of some compounds (mephedrone and mdpv come to mind) seem to become more and more favourable as they become harder to get - I put that down to the 'don't know what we got til its gone' mentality.. I'm wondering if that's the case with phenibut? Not sure whether it's getting more scarce, just noticed a couple of analogues showing up in its' place.

Looking forward to giving it a try anyway, the people who do enjoy it really do have good things to say of it. Xor's 'Ten year' Phenibut thread in Trip Reports is a really good read.

Yeah, what got me curious about it originally was someone on here saying that phenibut was like the love child of MDMA and Klonopin. I didn't find it to be that, exactly. But then again I'm not particularly "into" GABAergics, not my thang...
 
Damn, I guess people really ignore stickies :p

I had to stop drinking, because the hangovers got so bad, it's like a few days of hell after drinking even just a few shots -.-

How much do you think the kindling effect contributes to hangovers worsening with age?
