EADD Film Recommendations v6 - Nominated five times

I know we have a few Marvel Fan's around the place so I would strongly suggest

LOGAN - In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X somewhere on the Mexican border. However, Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are upended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.

Kong Skull Island - A team of scientists explore an uncharted island in the Pacific, venturing into the domain of the mighty Kong, and must fight to escape a primal Eden.

It was nice seeing Kong again and there are some great references to the old movies but it's really cheesy and detracts from the movie. If you can just switch off and watch it as a stand alone monster movie then it's pretty good fun.

Strange one for me to be putting up
Don't kill it - An ancient demon terrorizes a tiny Mississippi town.

Splatter/gore comedy horror with Dolph Lundgren - really stupid, cheesy horror but worth catching. (Imagine a low budget knock off of 'Fallen')

For those living around Gretna Green / Carlisle there is a local, low budget 'zombie' movie called 'Zombies have fallen' budget was 500£ the 'stars' are all the producers family (his dad plays the main star). It starts off pretty interesting but turns into a farce.

It was like watching an art project by the local school.

Lastly (bearing in mind my love of cheesy awful horror)

The creature Below - ignore the ratings (3.5) UK low budget horror but give it a try if you don't mind the acting, effects, story etc :D

I watched a pretty decent movie yesterday

Hush - A deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.

It does have a few problems but still a pretty enjoyable movie.

^ i saw that a while ago. i think they missed a massive opportunity to make the movie much better - [spoil]there should have been no sound in scenes when we were seeing things from the deaf writer's perspective[/spoil]

still, it was pretty good.

Just high light the blacked out part with your mouse & cursor Bear...

Only tasteful movies recommended on here? I feel the urge to troll the thread with some total trash.

Any closet fans of 'Showgirls', the 'best worst film ever made'? <3

Fuck I forgot to quote Ali in my post :D - Ali that's the thing - crazy isn't it (such a crazy oversight that would have turned that movie into something else. She is Deaf - her phone / alarm / laptop /cooker etc would not have made any noise and would have a visual display. She could feel her phone ring, guy walking about but she couldn't feel him bang on the window at the start ?

Score (1974) - Liberated Bi/swinger couple basically set each other challenges to turn/seduce other husband and wife couples. Light hearted stuff. A lot of good fucking. Recommended.

Deadheads (2011) - A pair of speaking and non-brain hungry zombies awake and try to retrace the chain of events that led to their deaths. Goofball comedy/horror. Good weed smoking watch.

T2:Trainspotting (2017) - Better than I thought it would be, completely different from the book Porno, which was Trainspotting's sequel.

Enjoyed The Green room, Don't kill it and Gold from the posts above also.

I remember seeing it as a kid and liking it just because yer doll from 'Saved by the Bell' was in it..and the diddies.

Oh well, yes. Love the nudity. And the camp-o-meter is off the scale. The fetish dance routine in the second half not only is technically perfect and naively un-PC, but also tits, pecs, male and female asses galore. They'd never get away with something like that this days I think

I think these days that's called a music video :)

For nudity, erotica and campness, I vote Barbarella. The scene where Jane Fonda is tied up while evil child robots are ripping holes in her black tights with their gnashing, metal teeth is strangely arousing...

Yep, even without real full on nudity Barbarella is a good one ;)

Barbarella! Yes!

A bunch of us had a film night where that was the feature and everybody was giggling throughout the whole film. Hilarious.

Martyrs (original French Canadian one) - a woman seeks revenge on a couple that kept her captive and tortured her as a child for an unknown reason. Absolutely brilliant horror with a load of twists and turns. Gets really bleak at points though, I'm legitimately having to watch some trailer park boys to cheer the fuck up before bed.

That's a dark movie really great twisted horror.

The next one that I'm waiting for is Alien:Covenant (Prometheus 2) but there are a few before that Guardians 2, Ghost in the Shell. Some great movies lined up for this year though.

Get Out is supposed to be pretty good but I haven't seen a watchable copy of it released yet.

I watched a really depressing movie last night - ISIS Jihadists doing what they do best, messing things up for everyone. It's worth watching just to get a glimpse of how brainwashed some of these people are.

Timbuktu - A cattle herder and his family who reside in the dunes of Timbuktu find their quiet lives -- which are typically free of the Jihadists determined to control their faith -- abruptly disturbed.

A while ago 'Shambles' suggested a documentary - 'HyperNormalization' there was a film mentioned in there which I have on my to watch list for some time so finally got around to watching it.

Stalker - A guide leads two men through an area known as the Zone to find a room that grants wishes.

What an amazing film! I loved it, really hard to describe without spoiling it. Have a read of some of the reviews on the link to the film and decide if your interested.

(Great documentary btw Shambles - I still haven't finished it [not something I can sit through in one sitting])

I watched another pretty interesting movie yesterday.

'Theeb' - In the Ottoman province of Hijaz during World War I, a young Bedouin boy experiences a greatly hastened coming-of-age as he embarks on a perilous desert journey to guide a British officer to his secret destination.

It's a very slow movie, subtitled but we both really enjoyed it.

I have a few cheesy horrors to watch over the weekend, bye bye man and peelers and the only serious one that I have lined up is Tangerines , no doubt I will report on them later.

Most recent fillums would be...

Whisky Tango Foxtrot: Pretty good comidrama about a female reporter sent to Afghanistan. Based on a true story, this was much better than I expected. Very funny in places and decent as a fillum in general.

Vengeance: A Love Story: Mentioned mainly cos it really ain't quite as awful as the reviews suggest. It's pretty frikkin stoopid but Nic Cage is kept to a minimum and there is some decent(ish) film there to be had... Ish...

YAAASSS!!! I've recommended this here a couple times before with nary a bite but here's hoping your independent recommendation will shake a few views loose.

Stalker is one of my all-time fave films and, imo, Tarkovsky's finest. Truly outstanding film on so many levels. There are basic tracking shots in that film that are worth entire cinematographic careers... <3

Morning Shambles, I've had it on my to watch list for ages and never got around to it. Then when I was watching that documentary and it was mentioned it reminded me about it. So glad I watched it - brilliant movie. With the modern movies your so used to having a few seconds on a shot, scene before it changes this was a breath of fresh air - the slow panning shots, the close ups and the way that at times the characters seem to be almost talking to you. Beautiful stuff indeed.

I watched a great movie last night - really worth watching, pretty slow paced but we both thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tangerines - War in Georgia, Apkhazeti region in 1990. An Estonian man Ivo has stayed behind to harvest his crops of tangerines. In a bloody conflict at his door, a wounded man is left behind, and Ivo is forced to take him in.
