using alcohol to detox from crack

my girlfriend is getting off of crack. she is drinking to help with cravings. anyone have any experience with this?

also she takes anti psychotic meds

the actual detox from crack, coke etc is very very short
IMO its more psychological that she is gonna battle which are the cravings...sadly cravings alone can be hellish within its own right
cravings never go away in a sense

think the other issue with that is her trading in a crack addiction to a possible alcohol addiction
best route would be to go cold turkey

IMO i would take her to a doc before doing anything

Cravings come and go and with time we learn to build strategies so that stay sober. The problem with alcohol is that it could easily lead you to relapse. It's a lot more manageable to deal with cravings sober rather than under the influence of alcohol imo/e.

The only time I really ever crave cocaine is when drinking. For that reason, I would think it's a terrible idea but to each their own.
