This thread is for all your questions on chronic and acute pain management with emphasis on the first (Chronic Pain)

DO NOT POST IN HERE IF YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO GAIN INFORMATION ON HOW TO SCAM DOCTORS FOR NARCOTICS. FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THIS THREAD'S EVEN STRICTER, ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON SOURCING ANY DRUG FROM ANYWHERE WILL RESULT IN YOUR BAN. ITS HARD ENOUGH TO BE A PAIN PATIENT IN THIS DAY AND AGE AND BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY WHEN PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN HAVE REAL CONDITIONS FAKE REAL ONES FOR THEIR ADDICTIONS.

Do make sure to post a question... You can ask other for an opinion on what medications might work for you, discuss dosages, side-effects, and comparing different medications etc.

Man, I really don't like to talk a bout my pain, because it is almost all in the groin.
I had a hernia un-diagnosed for 6+ months. It hurt, bad, caused 1 of my testicles to swell to the size of a red potato...And that's what it looked like. I was in so much pain I had doc's jabbing needles in my nut, and groin, and taint.
By the time I had surgery I had bilateral hernias, and a hydrocele. The hernias were repaired w/ mesh patch implants.
After 6 months of getting better, and then worse, I broke down and accepted a 'script for hydrocodone. 2 weeks later it was on to morphine.
I have developed a neuromia~ my inguinal nerve is sutured into, or rubbing against the mesh. This caused tremendous pain. All my back injuries returned, and I now have 2 bulging disks in my neck, as well as a tumor; from leaning things for months, not walking/ standing correctly.
Doctors tell me there is nothing to be done...
Groin pain blows.
I indeed almost died from untreated long term pain. Doc said my hormones are gone. Insomnia and stress(pain) wiped 'em out.
For a while, I didn't care if I lost a testicle, I didn't care if I was in a wheel chair the rest of my life- I'ld give up anything to stop the pain.
No joke.
Every minute of every day I felt like I fell off my bicycle seat on to the frame w/ my crotch.
I feel for those in groin, colon, crotch pain.:!

Suicidalnod, im sorry bro. We have 2 totally different things wrong with us but we share groin pain. Mine is from blood clots that go from my belly to my knees but is stuffed full in both groins and the pain is crazy. Im on a good pain med and morphine which sucks for everybody. Hydrocodone is pretty weak. You need oxy or dilaudid. I know that sad feeling of giving up anything to get pain to go away. Sounds like you cant catch a break and im not gonna parronize you and say keep your chin up, everything will be alright. I hate when people tell me that. You ate in the right thread. Its an awesome little family of us pain sufferers. What hurts worse your back or groin? Obviously you got meds, was this from a general dr or pain clinic? Sounds like to me you need a bettrr pain regimn like 20-30mg oxycontin every 12 hrs and 15mg of oxy ir every 4 hrs. Dilaudid works great for me but its very short scting. Im no Dr but have tons of experience in pain management cause i went thru it over the years. Can you call somewhere and possibly change out. Man with your pain that shit aint gonna help. I wish you relief and peace. You deserve it. Youve been through enough my friend. You got my support and anything i can do lrt me know. One day buddy your pain will be dulled to yhe point you can function. Just gotta work on your pain meds. Hang tough bro and keep posting. Good luck

Stopped doing oxycodone although my tapering would have been longer because every drop in the dose sent my into withdrawals.
Got a plastic pack from pharmacy containing Lyrica, temazepam for sleep, clonazepam for anxiety and muscleconvulsions, pramipexole for RLS and some packs to do tonic juice. Also I put my self into trial in which they use Ambien every 8hours to comfort the withdrawals.

Pharmacist in a drive in pharmacy asked what tha fukin musclecar came to their line as it rumbled even inside. And then after packaging everything to a plastic pack rolled his eyes and said have a happ withdrawals.

Hey Pain Peeps!

Anyone else having problems getting on BL due to "busy server"? Is it because of the new "tagging"? Idaknow, as I've not had the problem prior to the last couple of weeks. Patience is not now, nor will it ever be, my strong suite. However, there have been days when I would try NUMEROUS times to get on BL only to fail! GR-R-R-r-r-r

Chicky, quitcherbellyachin'...k?

Good to hear from peeps who've been MIA. Hey, as long as pain is not preventing "action"...I'm waving pom-poms cheering y'all on!!!

SNod...Don't be afraid to share your struggles with us, no matter the affected anatomy. Pain is pain, my brotha. I think it's even more difficult when it involves our genitals. No shame here. You didn't ask for the neglectful doctors and their failure to treat. I didn't either, though I, like you, suffer the consequences. It's a bitch.

If I treat the pain with prescribed meds, my bowels literally shut down. Can't win for losing, but hey...It only hurts while I'm breathing.

MrRoot...Congrats on tapering off Oxy. What is your plan going forward to treat your pain?

closeau...Try to keep busy somehow and keep your mind occupied. You can do this, friend! As I observed my cat (Moonshine) this morning with her fresh kill (chipmunk) I was reminded that we (like the cat) still have options. The chipmunk? not so much. She had "caught" him on 3 separate occasions this week. Each time it played dead until it could make its escape. Fourth time was no charm.

Anna...Doll baby, I feel your pain. RTP...Update? KM13...Update? SKR...Update? BigG...Feeling just a little better and back at work?

I have a good friend with a medical card for Cannabis. He's offered to get the tincture for me. I fucking hate research, but I need to find out which will ease some of my pain and inflammation along with lift mood and energize. I cannot be incoherent and couch-locked. My career is too demanding. Is there such a magic potion? I know the stuff is expensive, but I believe it's worth a try.

:) Oh, hey Iam! I personally would stick with the Imitrex and add other modalities to ease your headaches. Others will have more to offer. Welcome to our little corner!

Im 19 and idk how but i managed to get a fucking herniated disc. Like its not even from an accident i just have it. Anyway my doc is like... useless... you can tell him that you got shot or that youve been having black vaginal discharge and hes gonna always prescribe two things: fucking paracetamol (with ascorbic acid! Thanks doc) and idk fuckin supplements... hes been giving me paracetamol and muscle relaxants. When i told him it wasnt working he gave me more paracetamol and an antiinflammatory... the only thing thats been working so far is tramadol, which was prescribed to me by another doctor who was covering for him when i fell on my back a couple months ago.
Tomorrow im gonna try and make poppyseed tea, see how that works... sucks though that i have to resort to dirty morphine water just cause my medic is a bitch

DixiChik, Lyrica is the only drug for pain and I just want to bear that pain. This ambien stuff seems to work for cravings

Hey I am exactly in the same position except I take 1.5g every 3 days to drop tolerance and keep an effect.

Lyrica works great for periferal pain, not acute.

Headaches and migraines are the worst, and they don't stop; I really feel for you. My friend takes a prophylactic med, so they don't creep up on her, plus Imitrex. I also take Relpax. If insurance will only cover a handful, I would ask to try some different meds so you always have something. I've tried at least 3 different migraine meds just to see what works, and take the Relpax if the Imitrex doesn't catch it.

I had a question for people with chronic low back pain. Where is your pain?
I have been in pain management for a few years and just recently switched to a new doctor. My pain is in the middle of my low back but a little bit to the right. He seems to go a little further right then where my pain is and he focuses on a muscle and says it feels a little tight there. Before I left he said he if I drop a little bit of weight that he can start to ween me off of my meds. Is it possible all of my Pain could be muscle related? I had surgery of L5-S1 with a laminectomy.

For me my back pains never actualized in my back after few weeks when they appeared but instead on the either leg depending which nerve was under the pressure and it constantly moved up and down through my leg.

It could be muscle related if the location of the pain doesn't change.

It should be easy to test if it is muscle related as you can get injections that numb the muscle and if it helps it definately is muscle related.

Iam...Please be careful with the Tramadol. Did you take the 250 mg at one dose? That's a LARGE dose for starters and will quickly increase tolerance/subject you to seizures. Anna's suggestions are good ones. I hope you can try those and get some relief.

MrRoot...I'm not sure why you say you want to "bear the pain"? Maybe I've missed something, though. It's good that Lyrica helps you. I reluctantly took Neurontin when I got SHINGLES in my eye/face in 2014. I credit the Neurontin for preventing my homicidal/suicidal thoughts from actions! :\

My PM doctor said "this is the suicide disease". No shit, Sherlock! I was already suicidal from existing issues (over decades). The SHINGLES in my cranial nerves are the cherry on top of my SHIT SUNDAE of health issues. The viral antibody count was "acute" for a full year. It was pure HELL, and changed me forever. The Neurontin was a lifesaver for the nerve pain. I weaned off as soon as I was cleared for the injection.

My doctor still tells me that stress will slam the lid of my coffin sooner, rather than later. My cortisol level is 19. It's been elevated since my surgery in 1994, with chemo and no HRT allowed forever. I went into surgically induced menopause @ 33.

Mracid...Good to hear from you! How are you feeling? Is the Lyrica an adjunct med for your pain management program or a stand alone?

Scooby...That's a million dollar question, friend. Back pain is tough to live with and harder to find relief. It's a damned if you do or don't, ya know? IME, with both cervical and lumbar trauma @ 17, then @ 22 and again @ 44, I joke that my spine is a shit show. I also have blood filled tumors along my spine, but I'm told surgery isn't viable.

I have multiple modalities that I use to "cope". I swim laps daily, to prevent atrophy of muscles. My joints are GONE from disease and chemo, so running or power walking isn't happening. I do Yoga stretching daily as well. I have to stay in motion as much as possible. Otherwise, my body will just "lock up". Gentle stretching in a HOT shower twice daily helps, too. Ice helps some folks...irritates every nerve in my body! I have a TENS unit, and keep a heating pad that I alternate between my back and my tummy. As for meds, Voltaren or Toradol are very helpful, though sadly NOTHING makes it pain free.

BTW, peeps...I have a friend (same one who sent me Indica to try) with cancer who is going to send me the CBD:THC tincture. I've got to figure out which strain I need. I know it will be expensive and perhaps futile, but at least I'll know. As y'all know, smoking the Indica was funny, but not feasible. I am a complete greenhorn with this stuff and I HATE research...I can design you one fantastical house, but science eludes me! So, do any of my pain peeps have experience/knowledge of the product? I DO NOT want sedating/couch lock. I would be pleased with minimal pain relief, free bowels, and most of all...mood lift and motivation to soldier through this hopelessness.

My disease is not terminal. My despair IS. :|

Thanks for the replies. My pain does stretch from the middle to my side depending on which way I twist/bend. It's not in one location but if I had to point where most of my pain comes from it's the middle right area. I was just curious if all chronic pain patients have pain closer to their spine area. I don't doubt that my weight could play a role in my pain but I'm not sure it's the only problem I have.

I had an injection there and it helped a little bit but I still had pain across my lower right side but had a little bit of Relief in the injection spot.

Ive heard the white widow is too Dixi. Johndarnfeel i havent forgotten about you welcome. I gurss they dont wanns treat someone of your age with opiates. Discrimitory. I mean tramadol is kinda an opiate but barely. Thats why people take large doses and get into trouble. Did you try the poppy tea. Did it work? I hope so. Youre intilted to relief like the rest of us despite age or gender or whatever. I wish you well and all my pain peeps, take good care of yourself?

First post!

Also I saw someone mention taking tramadol with imitrex. My pharmacist told me that taking the two together could potentially cause serotonin syndrome. Not sure how likely it is or in what doses it becomes a danger

I've only ever had two cluster headaches that both lasted about a month. I do psychedelics on occasion, but I have no idea if it's helped me or not. I think shrooms are worth a shot if it's affecting your classwork.

Truly hope you find something that works because those fucking things are not fun!

Hey guys, I didn't really have a chance to read through the old thread, but I was wondering if anyone here has endometriosis and/or severe period cramps and which meds you prefer for it? I mainly use naproxen and Percocet when the pain is really bad. I like kratom too but the short half life sucks. Anyway, there's no way in hell my doctor is going to prescribe me any opiate that's actually strong enough for my pain, but I was wondering if there's anything else out there that might help? Perhaps a muscle relaxant? Would gabapentin or pregabalin be likely to work? Thanks for any answers.

Hey guys, just caught up on the discussion here. Really hope you guys find relief, especially from the pain but also from the problems from the meds themselves :) Makes me feel guilty complaining about disc pain that, while having a big shit sandwich effect on my life, could be a lot worse.

Saw my new doctor for the first time today and it actually went pretty well. She took the pain quite seriously and is sending me to get x-rayed, is sending me to the subsidized physical therapy, plans to send me to a specialist if the x-rays come back as expected, and prescribed me a 3 month supply of my not-very-effective-but-much-better-than-nothing codeine/apap meds. After a conversation with my brother, who is a doctor, last night I decided to explicitly ask for low dosage IR oxy, at least a small amount for when the pain is worst, but she shut me down--but was at least nice about it. Assuming things don't improve I guess I might have better luck on that with the specialist. I was also prescribed amitryptiline 10mg which apparently is supposed to raise my pain threshold--anybody had any luck with that? Wife is warning me it's really important not to mix with alcohol but I rather like having a couple beers most evenings. Anyway, long story short it went about as well as I could have hoped for with the one exception of getting something for pain that's stronger than codeine.

Take care all :)
