We are interested in hearing about use and effects of new psychoactive drugs

Hundreds of “new” synthetic drugs have come out in the last few years; some of which are now illegal; examples are NBOMe, 2C-I, Foxy, Benzo Fury, BZP, Meow Meow, AMT, and MXE.

New York University Langone Medical Center (NYU) is seeking people to participate in a research study, which will gather information on how to prevent harm in those who use new synthetic drugs. This is a university research study and we have no affiliation with law enforcement.
We are interested in hearing from you if:

  • You are between the ages of 18 and 35, and
    • You have a lot of familiarity with and/or experience using or selling any of these drugs (or any other new drugs not mentioned above), OR
    • You are a party or festival promoter who knows a lot about use of new drugs in the scene

If you are eligible, you will be asked to participate in a one-hour interview and you will be compensated $50 in cash for your time. No identifying information will be collected and all information will be kept completely confidential.

Interviews will take place at an NYU office, located at 227 East 30th Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) in Manhattan (take the 6 train to 28th street stop). In certain circumstances, the interview can be conducted over the telephone.

If you are interested in participating, please contact the Principal Investigator of the study: Dr. Joseph Palamar, at [email protected] (or 646-501-2884).
