Well looking for electronic music can be a pain in the ass a lot of times, because it's so hard to find exactly what you're looking for, I've tried to go through a bunch of subgenres, but I rarely ever find anything that interests me, which is strange since I've heard a lot of awesome electronic music in movies and such.
I'm on the look out for some really dark and heavy electronic music that puts you in a trance induced state, something kinda minimalistic, but not minimal techno minimalistic, something with a bit of tempo and a heavy beat, not necessarily a in your face type of beat (I like those too, but I'm looking for something that is really dark and heavy, but not too much in your face), if I had an example I would share it, but unfortunately I don't know of any songs, I found one not long ago that had a part that was exactly what I was looking for, but I can't remember the song, but I'll try to find it so it'll give you guys something more specific to work with.

Speedy J's more recent live stuff is sorta all over the place techno wise. Not necessarily like the schranz style he was known for:

Sounds like you might like dark progressive psytrance.

but just in case. I'll offer some dark psy as well.

What kind of tempo, structure and sound are you looking for? If you can elaborate a bit I'm sure I can point you in the right direction.

I came across this while checking Sheds releases on discogs, he really know how to mix his stuff (good reference material) and he's versatile in his outings too, this is rather distorted but also rather beautiful:

or this maybe?

And this is a remix I did: https://soundcloud.com/redactedmusic/cancerdogs-bottom-feeder-redacted-remix

but who hasn't listened to burial already tbh

tim hecker is nice

andy stott could fit aswell

Or a bit more energy but still stripped down like Lucy / Stroboscopic Artefacts?

I could go on like this for ever as I love sharing music, but Im curious what you think now..(tempo and what you consider dark and heavy. More bass heavy/ moody or more distorted? like this from Speedy J:

last one for tonight/morning..8:)) Let me know...!

Edit: how sick is that jpgrdnr....I hadn't noticed your video of Lucy b2b with speedy J before posting that Lucy video....
When I skimmed the thread I did notice you mentioning Speedy J which made me think of this track looking for distorted raw material...

Around the time he released those loops on Loudboxer which had some realy nice more held back stuff on there, I asked him if he was going to release some stuff like that, but at that time he was only putting out electric deluxe type hitters, still a shame tho could have done a B side here and there... Going to watch that set when I wake up..I haven't checked much mainstream techno lately but that sure looks interesting! ;)

I think if the OP checks into some of the labels putting out new stuff the trend in Germany and other places in Europe, more complex darker techno with more mellow BPMs. I only thought of Speedy J because he's changed his style quite a bit over the years.

Well obviously I'm terrible at making people understand what I'm looking for, but I really appreciate all the suggestions.
I'm not sure if this is going to help, but I'm looking for something that almost sounds evil (or gives off "evil vibes"), Dark Psytrance is not too far from what I'm looking for, but something more drum'n'bass'ish, and I want it to feel really heavy and not mellow, if that makes sense.

EDIT: I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsEFt0hjrdw&playnext_from=TL&videos=8NL9SusaxQA in the "Hard and dark music appreciation thread" thread, it has that heaviness I'm looking for, but a lot of hardcore is a bit too much "in your face" for my taste.

breakcore? neuro? darkstep? something in that ballpark? Venetian Snares has some good blends of hardcore and drum and bass at times

That's pretty close to gabber.

If you want something more drum n bass ish, there's UK darkside hardcore from the 90s & early jungle. Ed Rush, Optical, DJ Trace, Metalheadz, etc

Not quite what I'm looking for, it needs to be darker and heavier/harder (darker and deeper beats), but still pretty cool, I gotta look more into that kind of stuff! =)

No, drum'n'bass'ish might not be the right term for what I'm looking for, I like some breakcore, but it's not something I can listen to that much before I get tired of it, and I've never liked Dubstep or Darkstep.

To be completely honest with you guys I don't really know much about a lot of different electronic genres, I mostly listen to Metal and I'm really good at finding Metal that I like, but I really like nice and heavy electronic music, it's something I've always liked, but I've never managed to find much of the type I like to listen to, most of the time when I try to find something I end up finding what I'm not looking for.

EDIT: Ok, this is the closest I've come to finding the type of electronic music I'm looking for, but even if it's Drum'n'Bass it's not Drum'n'Bass I'm looking for, this song has that dark and heavy style I'm looking for (but I'd like it to sound more "evil"), with a slightly atmospheric sound and kinda the tempo I'm looking for, but preferably faster.

This song sounds heavy and evil, but it's still not the type of electronic music I'm looking for, you could say the beats should be as heavy and dark, but a bit more subtle, still hard hitting, but more of a round and not sharp type of hard hitting beat.

EDIT: An even better example of what I'm looking for, between 0:10 and 2:42 is pretty close to what I'm looking for, and I honestly don't think it is possible for me to find an even better example, so I cross my fingers you guys know what I'm looking for.

Not aggressive enough, maybe that word will help out (man I almost feel desperate here, because I so badly want to find the type of music I'm looking for, and it's always frustrating when I don't), it needs to be aggressive.
Anyways, thanks for trying.

But since it is so hard to find the music I'm looking for, I don't mind if you guys suggest more DnB like the songs I've mentioned by Broken Note and 2methylBulbe1ol
