Seven Curses

A haunting song. Paints such a good story

Old Reilly’s daughter got a message
That her father was goin’ to hang
She rode by night and came by morning
With gold and silver in her hand

When the judge he saw Reilly’s daughter
His old eyes deepened in his head
Sayin’, “Gold will never free your father
The price, my dear, is you instead”

“Oh I’m as good as dead,” cried Reilly
“It’s only you that he does crave
And my skin will surely crawl if he touches you at all
Get on your horse and ride away”

Definitely worth a listen, even to those who don't like Dylan, You won't regret it!

It's also an easy wee number to play on guitar.

I didn't realise we were on a Dylan binge! I wanted to post the version of "See That My Grave is Kept Clean" that's on The Complete Basement Tapes Vol. 4. It's totally different track to the better-known version on his self-titled album, he actually turns it into a kind of upbeat, jaunty tune. Unfortunately it's nowhere to be found on the internet, so I'll post this instead:

Bob Dylan - Queen Jane Approximately

That was on the tape (tape!) that finally got me into the Stones. Memories.
