(btw this lady had been a patient for over 15 yrs and has a close relationship with the DR.)

They said the same thing in Canada back in march 2012 but its still getting prescribed to people who are not dying so I guess it didn't last long. But yes many people are getting cut off their meds I haven't heard of another ban but I do know you can't get the old OC formula anymore due to how similar it was to heroin. Now they make an abuse proof pill called oxy neo (ON) and in the states they have OP pills which gel up if abused.

I just read the US is putting pressure on Canada to ban recently approved generic time released oxycodone products which can be abused the same way as the old OC formulation. But Canada is holding strong and saying even if we ban yet another painkiller, addicts will still get their hands on the drugs they need. Which is true very true if this happens more will buy from online pharmacies and more will switch to alternatives such as heroin. Yayy Canada the US is retarded in thinking they will solve anything by banning more pills. What's next? Diladid? Vicodin? Codeine? Fuck why not just take every pill off the market since they are all addictive and dangerous in the long run. Let's keep people in pain until they kill themselves so we can weed out the weak citizens. Fuck I hate the US government well all government really but the US is worse with the way they try to wipe all trace of a substance instead of actually helping people. People in pain need these drugs I think the government is so stupid to try to ban the stuff to solve addiction. Theve seen this has never worked before so why are we still hoping it will now?
There are people in pain all over who now resort to robbing and doing anything possible to buy expensive street heroin or pills. It isn't right.

No it's not right.. the US gov't wants everyone with a drug problem to switch to being on methamphetamine.. i could prove it but wont.

First, it is oxycodone, not oxycodine.

Second, there haven't been any changes in how oxycodone is controlled. Maybe you are thinking of hydrocodone? Some products containing hydrocodone (for example Vicodin) were just moved from schedule III to schedule II. Doctors can still prescribe it to any patent if there is a medical necessity, and its use isn't restricted to terminal patients. However, some physicians will now be more reluctant to prescribe it because of the change in control status.

Note that some states have laws that are more restrictive than federal law with regards to prescribing oxycodone, so it is possible that you are thinking of a state law instead of a federal law.

nope oxy, and they have been getting 300 for years with no problem what so ever, yesterday the doc said the dea was at her office and said the thing about cancer and the patent got put on ms contin. they said its happening to everyone with out cancer, and she had papers to prove it. maybe yesterday was the first day they started it, and next week we will know more.

I'd kill myself without these pills due to the severe chronic pain I live with. I wouldn't last a day without blowing my brains out. However, I live a relatively normal life thanks to them - but no thanks to the asinine doctors who are literally the dumbest and most ignorant assholes I have ever dealt with in my life. Well, I don't deal with them anymore because they are useless pieces of shit. You would think they'd have half a brain but I suppose they are robots paid high salaries to be controlled by the powers that be, who are ever dumber. I'd choose the flashing red lights over a doctors office any day. Cops are much more intelligent and reasonable in my experience. Every time I see a pain specialist I leave wanting to strangle the motherfucker pussy ass bitch who has no concept of chronic pain and suffering. Even if Canada doesn't ban them, it is way too difficult to get a prescription here if you suffer from chronic pain. They may as well be banned, it makes no difference. The drug dealers are the real pharmacists for most people with this type of problem.

So in the pain mgmt thread you said your doctor you've been with for 10 years told this to you. Now you are saying it is a friend that has been with their doc for 15 years. There is nothing online that I found that mentions anything of the sort. Sounds like bs.

Makes sense, that was the government can make more money smuggling and selling heroin.

But I think it's Hydrocodone that is being rescheduled. Not aware of any oxy stuff.

I have my appointment this week, so I'll be sure to let you know. This makes zero sense, considering there are far more potent pain relievers on the market. Oxycodone is like candy to me after I spend a few weeks taking Oxymorphone. I think your doctor just doesn't want to prescribe you oxy any longer.

That's probably it. I have an appt the 31st too so I'll have first hand knowledge, but I don't think anything is happening.

The hydrocodone change has been big news though, but doesn't make any difference to me. I think it'll see more people switch from Vicodin to an oxycodone-based product, since they're now controlled the same (should be a boon for Zohydro).

Here in Florida and many other state we have laws were unless you have cancer or rheumatoid arthritis you can only go to a pain clinic. I just Googled new dea oxycodone regulations and found nothing regarding what you said; sounds like your doctor is bull shitting. I do know they have new laws that took place within the past 2 years in many states were unless you have cancer you can only get a certain morphine or morphine equivalent dose per day but no laws that flat out prevent non-cancer patients from getting oxycodone exist as far as I know.

In KY they want you to take a 500 dollar DEA drug screen to continue getting benzos. Fckin shake down iyam

About four years ago before we had the law requiring me to go to a pain clinic one day my rheumatologist decided she wanted a pain doc to handle my meds. She sent me to one who gave me a fucking $1600 drug test back when I didn't have insurance. Then told me he still wanted my rheumatologist to handle my meds and sent me back to her. I just said fuck it and didn't pay the bill and eventually was able to get the fee removed.

Are you sure your not getting confused with the new classification laws of narcotics? This is completely false, I am in close relations to a specialist on a federal board for prescription narcotics. However the DEA may be coming down on that lady's doctor :sus: I would suggest she find a new one immediately

Not to mention we would have received much more news on this, just because one patient says that does not mean it is true.

Yea, if they were doing this you'd be hearing news about it months in advance like with all the other new policies that have taken place in recent years. The only existing laws regarding non-cancer patients on pain medication is stricter limits on the daily allowed dosage.

im wondering if the dea is coming down on my dr, and she is just saying thats she can only prescribe to cancer patients as to thats her new rule for fucking up, and she doesnt want her patients to know, that the dea is on her shit. motherfucker, this is some bullshit
