Opioids Tramadol 600MG + Lyrica (Pregabalin) 300MG - Is it a safe mix?

Hey, so my query tramadol 600mg which i take daily for sciatica ive had a few seizures over the years so i know Lyrica lowers the seizure risk and yesterday i took 150mg lyrica in one go and i only felt a slight change for around 10seconds ive never used Lyrica before so if one was to take 300mg with 600mg tram would it still lower the seizure risk and provide additional potentate

I have tried the search function to find exactly info on my doseage but i cant find anything which relates to my dose.

I didn´t know you could have seizure from tramadol. Did your doctor say Lyrica would help?

Yes it will be safer, but nobody on BL would advocate that it would be 'safe'.

You can indeed have seizures from large (usually >400mg) doses of tramadol.

Adding Lyrica may help, may not. I wouldn't mix it with a huge dose of tramadol, if you want to experiment I would try cutting your tramadol dose back to 300mg or something.

Ooooh that lyrica is going to potentiate the hell out of the trams. So you'll get wasted way more than the trams on their own.

As others have said over 400mg of tramadol is seizure territory and although lyrica is an anti convulsive thats not to say it will help. Be careful.

Oh trust me you can its happened around 10 times to me from my dosage of 600mg tramadol daily it happens when you take too much to quickkk for example its 8am you take 200mg then at 9.30am you take another 200mg then at 11am you take another 200mg and because pof the time seizures occur so i've had to extend the times between doses

doc said lyrica is good for pain and for seizures so hence why i have it.

another Question has anybody experienced lyrica at high doses and if so what happenes?

its 00.45 here in london and from 1pm till now i have 500mg of lyrica and i havent experienced anything yet? could that be because of the tramadol blocking what would happen to somebody taking the dose

maybe my tramadol doesnt like lyrica in his Territory lol

Too much of Lyrica can make you feel dizzy or have problems to sleep + confusion, irritability. Also depression and anxiety.

I was hit by a car on my motorbike on the 25/5/14 and I have a broken jaw which ive had surgery on, they put 4 pins and rubber bands in and 2 titanium plates also removed 3 teeth and 7 of my remaining teeth are chipped also have a fractured sternum, a fractured rib, a broken rib, I dislocated my right foot which now has severe nerve damage, also have a 10cm gash on my liver which is causing slight internal bleeding, a punctured lung, a fractured left wrist and a fractured right radius.

I was in the royal Melbourne hospital for 3 weeks, was put on morphine then when released endone, targin, codine but no pain relief so they sent me to a pain specialist who suggested lyrica and tramadol and it works beautifully I can now walk without a moon boot and for more than 5 minutes at a time. I'm currently on 600 mg of lyrica a day with 300 mg of tramadol at first it was an awesome high but then your body gets familiar with the drugs.

This morning I dropped 1400mg of lyrica and 700mg of tramadol so ill see how I go ill post another reply to see how things go

Watch out with those high tramadol doses, anything over 400mg is putting you at risk for seizures.

I was just concerned by that too, but you beat me to it.

I'd ease off on the Tramadol dose, but if you're going to go high, please stay at no more than 600mg. Even that is in touch-and-go territory.

I don´t understand how Tramadol works. I´ve taken plenty and it never really worked out for me. I guess my Methadone dosage blocks some of the effects.
