Okay somehow I have run out of my script four days early. I seriously think I had mistaken taking double doses since my short term memory is crap. my question is. Will lyrica help ease these withdrawals....I am on 1 mg twice daily and I'm sure unless someone stole them that I took more......Now I get a script of 75mg of lyrica three times a day and I want to conserve this batch for the long road ahead till thursday.....So how do y'all see this as helping me the most. I just want to survive this. i know it's going to be hard but Man, I wished I didn't have to go thru this.

You didn't tell us what drug you ran out of. But if it's benzos or opiates, the Lyrica will definitely help.

Hi op im movin this to OD since you are asking more on what drug will fill in for klonopin

Yes Lyrica will indeed help you. It shouldn't be too bad since Klonopin has a long half life by the time you start to withdraw you'll be close to the day you can refill your Rx. Good luck and don't let it ruin your week.

agreed.

but, I have been prescribed 3 mg's/ day of klonopin for yrs and I have NEVER had ANY WD's from that low of a dose no matter how I stopped taking them or for how long. I understand that everyone is different, but I really haven't even heard of people experiencing anything close to serious WD symptoms when stopping from that low of a dose. And I have a serious "anxiety" problem.

That's crazy....I mean I'm very sensitive to medication and have a dormant psychosis that get's drawn out when there is too much stress....So maybe that is the reason....My anxiety is bad also...so I know what you mean on that end.....You know I was in IP back in 08 when this guy who was on four xanax bars a day came in and he had really just cravings. There where no withdrawals really then when I was in IP in 2012 for DXM use they yanked me off of 1mg of xanax and I was in full blown withdrawals. I couldn't talk straight. I felt like the floor was moving or wobbling. Oh it was just bad. Guess just every bodies different.

OT: Damn I thought you were dead. I read some crazy thread where you were in & out of the hospital with mind blowing pain. I never knew how it resolved but figured it didn't end well.

Won't help now but if you do not already have a script for hydroxyzine you might want to look into getting one. It can be helpful for moderate anxiety, another good thing is DR usually give several refills.

yea, well, imo, Xanax(alprazolam) is MUCH more potent than clonazepam. I mean, I'm sure most people here on BL(especially people is OD) are aware that alprazolam is approx. 2-4 times more potent per mg than clonazepam... I used to know the exact ratio, but that was back when I was still a drug abuser and a VERY active member here on BL(3-4 yrs. ago). But, from my own personal experience, I also believe that alprazolam is even more "effective" or "potent" than clonazepam is, even when taken at equivalent doses.... as in (for example) 0.5mg alprazolam and 1.5 mg clonazepam are supposed to be fairly equal benzo doses in regard to their relative strength. But since alprazolam has MUCH stronger hypnotic effects(sleep inducing) than clonazepam, as well as approximately equal anxiolytic(calming/anti-stress) effects(if not even stronger), I would imagine it's quite possible that a dose of alprazolam that is supposed to be equivalent to a certain dose of clonazepam could still be capable of causing much more intense/serious W/D pain and discomfort than would be expected from an equal dose of clonazepam.
I say all of the ^^above^^ because of my personal and extensive experience/research concerning benzodiazepines; primarily alprazolam, clonazepam, temazepam, midazolam, diazepam, lorazepam, and a bit of triazolam(primarily the first three tho). Therefore... since you were dropped off of a dose of 1mg alprazolam(Xanax)/day, I would say it's not completely unusual for you to have had the severe WD you described, since that dose would be approx. equal to 3-4mg's/day of klonopin, but like I described earlier, it's actual effects, especially its hypnotic effects(among others), seem to be MUCH more potent than those of clonazepam... meaning that your 1mg/day alprazolam dose could be equated, in terms of its hypnotic and anxiolytic properties, to MORE than 3-4mg's/day of clonazepam... possibly causing those particular properties(hypnotic/anxiolytic) to have a higher potency ratio when comparing the two drugs. Meaning the 1mg of alprazolam could ACTUALLY have the hypnotic/anxiolytic potency of 5+mg's of clonazepam.... obviously resulting in a more severe WD experience if the daily dose is abruptly stopped.
Of course this is all technically speculation based upon my personal experience, as well as certain facts regarding the pharmacokinetics of benzodiazepines. I know this post got a bit convoluted, but I hope I was able to get my point across clearly enough to be understood. But of course, you were MOST DEFINITELY correct when you stated that "everybody is different", and therefore my "hypothesis" is just that... a hypothesis. An educated guess. Idea. Concept. But basically my point was that my experience supports the thought that Xanax can cause a more severe W/D reaction than other benzos(particularly Klonopin), even at equal doses. Because back when I still took Xanax(the only benzos I'm taking now are k-pins and temazepam; both prescribed), a 0.5mg dose could knock me out(hypnotic effect) and cause intense anxiolytic activity in my brain, while an "equivalent" dose of k-pin(approx. 1.5mg's) would have hypnotic and anxiolytic effects significantly lower, and rarely ever caused intense sedation etc..

You are correct, it didn't end well. It turns out, I had an infection in my lower spine that could have been EASILY treated within 2 weeks with oral antibiotics, but since NO doctor would believe I was in such intense pain and NO doctor would believe me(they all accused me of being a junky and trying to get narcotics) because I had been honest with them about my PAST drug use, they refused to even test me or even look at my lower spine which is exactly where I told them the pain was originating...I ended up going to several hospitals, private drs, and even chiropractors over a 1-2 month period. NO ONE believed me. So, as a result of me attempting to get treatment for close to 2 months but being constantly called a drug seeking junky, my lower vertebrae( L3-L5 ) LITERALLY turned into goop and oozed out through the sides of my spinal column. I eventually found a private pain specialist who(still didn't believe me at first) was willing to sedate me enough so I could sit still long enough to get an MRI. As soon as he saw the results of the MRI he called me up personally and told me to get to the hospital ASAP and that he had already called ahead and had them prep a room for me.
FINALLY!! SALVATION!! Someone finally was convinced I wasn't faking it. Anyway, after some blood tests, they determined I was infected with a strain of pseudomonas and that it had done irreversible damage to my lower spine(which could have been prevented COMPLETELY if only someone would have simply listened to me and my family).
So now, I live in CONSTANT INTENSE pain even though I've been on 2 100mcg/hr Fentanyl patches every two days, 6 8mg hydromorphone/day, plus other medications ;like muscle relaxers etc.. Plus I am now permanently disabled but incapable of suing for malpractice because I live in TX and we have HORRIBLE patients rights laws due to Rick Perry(prick).
Anyways, I apologize, this is very off topic. But that's what I've been dealing with for almost 4 years now.

Man, that sounds like an excellent case for the law offices of Goldman, Golberg & Goldstein or what ever shiesty lawyers you could find.

Sorry OP.

Either the guy back in 2008 was lying or he could hold his brain together.....

There was a guy that was admitted to the psychward for trying to commit suicide. He claims he was on four 2 mg bars a day for ten years and the psychward would only give him zoloft and seroquel..So he said a few times he felt like he was going crazy but kept his cool. He mostly flirted with staff and this gal there. I mean I would of already had a seizure and he was flirting and we both where there for like two weeks so that's why I say he was either BSing or he could really hold his stuff.

Yea I would definitely bet on "he was lying", as people tend to do in psych wards, whether they realize it or not. Because being on 8mg's/day(for a decade!!!) of alprazolam is ridiculously high, and I doubt there are many, if any, people who could go cold turkey off of that dose without serious WD symptoms. Seizures being one of the most dangerous and common at that dose level. Even with the Zoloft and Seroquel(uck!!), there would still be some major issues his body/mind would be dealing with, as they are not in the benzodiazepine class of drugs.
