Bagpipe fan?

Are you a bagpipe fan? My first experience really being touched by bagpipe music was when I was watching Star Trek Wrath of Khan, which we were all very into Star Trek at the time. Spock dies and they shoot his body into outer space with Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. I'm aging myself here but I was a kid and Spock was absolutely dear to me and I remember crying my eyes out to that scene.

?Bagpipes are frequently played at dark times but they are also celebratory. Bagpipes did not originate in Scotland or Ireland like many people think. They actually came from Egypt and were brought? through Europe by the Romans.

This is Slipknot XIX and if you've ever heard the song, you know that it is indeed very dark. The bagpipes are exceptional-low and droning

The Dropkick Murphys are absolutely one of my favorite bands. Based out of Boston they are best known as an Irish punk band and for their really awesome energetic shows. Their annual St Patrick's Day shows in Boston used to always appeal to me but now I see that they play in Ireland on the actual holiday. I hope to get there someday.

It's worth mentioning that the latest album has some really "catchy" tunes. I have to admit they aren't as gritty and raw as they were in the beginning but I still enjoy their sound. After all every band evolves over time. Of course not can be discussed more in depth later.

Paying my way is actually a song about addiction. This is an issue that many bands face and of course they are no different. This a nice song to share with someone who is struggling

The song "Blood" basically is supposed to be a song to represent the band's history, from an incident at Kenmore Square to the fact that they're going to give you everything they have which they have proven to do.

And last I just wanted to throw this in here these three beautiful ladies do a super job of playing Shipping up to Boston and Enter Sandman on their bagpipes. It's actually pretty impressive. I'd like to explore them more but alas I am out of time
