Really love this band- Pain of Salvation. In general, I find excess progginess really annoying, and quite a number of their mid-period albums feature that, but early works (and their latest) are less progg, a bit more hard rock/metal. He has an incredibly expressive voice, and seems to write melodies that have an Alcest-like nostalgia invocatory capacity.
