Purple weed....

Im sitting here smoking on some grand daddy purp....

Is this the best weed in the world or what??

GDP, and northern lights, are the best types ive ever tried....

Opinions????
 
All down to personal taste, the purple strain I have enjoyed the most is black russian some of them taste like ribena.One of the best tasting plants I ever smoked was buddhas sister, that cherry taste does it for me and the hash off it is delicious. I am really sick of cheese now all the growers around me are growing nothing else and I'm not that impressed with it. It has a really strong smell but that is it's only outstanding quality, the taste is ok but the high is nothing special.
 
I've had great bud that was purple and terrible bud that was purple. I heard coloring can be caused by neglect in some cases.
 
Purple bud looks freakin awesome but I've noticed a theme of people commenting that within a strain they prefer green as opposed to purple phenotypes. Same goes with comparing completely different strains to each other- people rate purple ones slightly less highly than green ones. Especially something that turns purple no matter what you do such as Purple Power.
 
Nobody has mentioned the all mighty warlock yet.. thats got to be my favorite get 2 grams and even for a heavy smoker it would last you like 2 days, a bowl is all youd need with that :)
also swear it was so dark it got lighter when you burned it, not even purple it was basically black with a slight purple tint. intense to say the least. BUT the GDP is a bit easier to come across in the bay area here, and its also one of my favs :)

^ This. Although personally I have yet to come across it in my area :( U are just one of the many ppl I have heard have smoked it, noting that it is beastly ha :)
 
Cold temperatures will also make the weed a dark purple/black colour in many cases. I think that is due to the uptake of certain nutrients being reduced in cold weather(like what fire&water said about the potassium). While purple looks pretty cool I'm pretty sure there isn't too much difference in effect. Outdoor cold weather weed isnt usually as strong as summer though.
 
shhh I have my own purple, its seeds are in the fridge have been for over ten years.Also in there is a sibling cross of the original bros grimm c99.One day....

I've never heard of "the original bros grimm c99" but it sounds legit. What is it, some legendary strain or something? (I don't feel like Googling.)
 
I love my purple, but it's really something I only smoke towards night time. Shit knocks me out, taste great, and smells great too. I think there's better weed out there IMO, but it's personal preference on what you like. If you're all for the purps, keep smoking it
 
Colorado cough is the best.. best sativa ever crossed buy a multiple above mentioned indi..

PS you can make ANYTHING purple if you want..

some become purple with cold, or so they say.. I left only one clon of a plant without harvesting it for long weeks after I took the last of it, winter came and it became fucking purple it was great.
 
Lots of strains will turn purple to some degree with low night time temps, usually just the leaf though. Some strains turn purple regardless of temps, harder to find are strains that leaf bud and stem all turn purple regardless of temps.

c99 is a nice citrus tasting hybrid with a strong soaring sativa high which finishes in around 50 days.
 
Ace/Cannabiogen Pakistan Chitral Kush is a great example of a strain that turns purple no matter what you do if you get the right phenotype. You get different shades of purple, too. Some like in the pics below are a darker shade of purple but other plants have a more red purple. I think it looks so pretty. It's a landrace that's been inbred to stabilize it so it's ideal to use for breeding projects and the purple trait is dominant so it's easy to work with.
