Hello everyone Jake here i live in Las Vegas NV I was over at a friends house on Christmas and she was doing Meth smoking it and she asked me if i wanted to try it i hesitated but i did i had used Crank before and i smoke Weed sometimes to calm me down i was dependent on OXY and tabs i have a few things wrong with me lol but anyway my mind races all the time with my ADHD I do not have any health coverage and there is not anywhere that treats adhd here for free lol. So any way when I tried Crystal on Christmas it made my withdraw from Oxy go away and all if not most of my pain too it calmed me down for once i can focas and do school work and i am able to function like a normal person. The Problem is i have been smoking it everyday and i was wondering how do you know your addicted. When i tried Meth a few years ago i was snorting it I was allways told never smoke it because you will get hooked so what did i do years later i smoked it. But the effect of smoking is very differnt reaction for me when i snorted it made me feel hornbeing a Bi guy that wasnt bad but now that i smoked i seem to fuction normaly i can go to sleep and eat i am sometimes not tired but when i want to sleep i go to sleep. I am not having those pesky abnormal mood swings that my ADHD can bring on but i notice that i get ancey when i have not smoked when i get up i smoke like 2 to 3 times a day so what6 i am asking what side effects could i have and what happends when i stop useing it. thanks Jake

If you're smoking it every day, you are probably addicted.

And methamphetamine has been/is currently used for ADHD treatment (although the other amphetamines like Adderall or dextroamphetamine/Dexedrine, Vyvanse, etc) are used a lot more often.

Just a heads up, paragraphs make your post a lot easier to read vs. just a massive wall of text. I'm going to move this over to Other Drugs where you should get some answers.

That sums it up. I can tell you that meth is serious fucking business. I also have ADHD and currently, I do not see a doctor. It's amazing what it does for me as well, but I only smoke/snort once every couple weeks.

It seems you have developed a habit and expect your tolerance to rise. Just like with any other amps, discontinuing use after your duration is going to be rough.

I find though, used sparingly, with proper sleep, I don't crave meth.

Maybe you should work on getting a legal script of speed, that would be much better on your body!

Good luck Jake!

Go to an ADHD specialist, voice your suspicisions that you might have ADHD. Self medicating never works in practice especially with illicit substances.

The methamphetamine produced analgesia because it is a dopamine releaser, a hormone that controls pain.

I agree that you may have a problem. That being said, it's well known that people who suffer from untreated ADHD as children are WAY (can't remember the actual numbers) more likely to have issues with addiction as teenagers and adults.
My advice is the same as the previous member's...see a Dr. and see what they think about a trial run of stimulants. There are many different types to try.
I was taking pain meds years ago when I was diagnosed with adult ADHD. I started stimulants and I felt normal and was able to stop the opiates for a long time. BUT, when I started using them again for pain managements, I quickly became dependent on them.

Crystal meth is proper ADHD/ADD treatment when taken orally in amounts no larger than 30mg/dose and 60mg/day. Any other route is not proper use. Also, telling your doctor you're a meth addict might endanger your ADHD treatment for life! Just man up and control your use and only reveal such an addiction to a doctor if you're unable to do anything to save your life on your own!

try going a week without it. from what you've said i can already gather you're addicted. just try - wait and see. you'll crave it more than you crave life itself. that stuff is fucking nasty and i strongly suggest you see an ADHD specialist so you can take your pills orally. i abused my adhd meds when i first got them and boy i regret that miserably.

you can change your usage patterns to a non-addictive state. for instance i was addicted to my adhd meds when i abused them, as i take them theraputically now - i'm not. i can take weeks off it if i have to, and do. sometimes i even forget to take my meds.

Definitley do not self medicate ADHD with street meth... hah. That's a horrible idea. See a doctor and get treated properly.

As far as signs and warning of meth addiction... I'd say everyday use is a big red flag. Trying to stop and failing is also another check in the "addicted" column.

I never was hooked on meth when i tried it years ago this stuff i am taking now is Hawii ICE i guess i liked it from the first hit i took from that pipe what should i expect coming off it

You should expect being tired and a little depressed. Don't worry about that, the main thing you should expect is fiending for it.
Your body won't really go through any withdrawals, it's all up to your mind. If you can keep your self away from it for a while, through will power you are good.

Absolutely not. To treat a psychiatric disorder like ADHD, one must have reliable and CONSISTENT doses and quality control, these are two things that you can't achieve smoking crystal. The inhaled ROA is one of the most notorious ways to dose meth, with really rapid changes in your body chemistry occurring, which causes problems.

See a healthcare professional, if you're using crystal methamphetamine for ADHD and you're wondering whether you're hooked, chances are you have a deeper rooted addiction problem that may also require treatment by a healthcare professional like a psychologist.

If you are smoking it everyday, and you feel that is the required dosage of treating your ADD in self-medicating term, then I would most certainly say you are addicted. Not to sound like an asshole, but methamphetamine is an incredibly powerful drug, as are its negative side effects; mentally, that is.

Although stimulants are used to treat ADD, I believe that since, when prescribed, they are taken orally and in a very low dosage compared to a recreational dose, then the negative effects are much more benign. I have never heard of Desoxyn (prescription methamphetamine) being prescribed to any of my friends with ADD. That's just my experience, but I think you'll have an easier chance of obtaining a prescription for that if you are trying treat morbid obesity or severe narcolepsy.

When you smoke meth, I've been told bioavailablity is around 92%. That is quite high compared to orally taken, which I am sure is much lower. (Don't know the actual number.) But when you shoot or smoke meth every day, well, I mean you have to sleep sometime. And that's not gonna be easy if you're rolling bowls 4 to 5 times a day. You can't keep a stable lifestyle by staying up for a couple days, and having one day to crash. I have seen some people try this, and meth psychosis seems to kick in A LOT. I believe sleep deprivation plays one of the largest parts in meth psychosis.

If you are somehow sleeping everyday, well when you wake up you have to be coming down right? Your brain will still be depleted of dopamine and norep. So you will still NEED meth to substitute the continuing depletion of neurotransmitters that take more than one night of sleep and 1-2 small meals a day to replenish. And as you continue using, tolerance will develop requiring higher amounts to reach the desired effects. The euphoric effects will be severely lessened the more you smoke, QUICKLY.

And I don't think I need to tell you that that is a healthy way of medicating at all.

Smoking meth or shooting meth is not meant to be a way of treatment in my opinion, because they simply get you TOO HIGH and TOO SPUN to correctly function, even if you think you are. It's just a matter of the fact that they are much more powerful methods of administration and obviously exceed needed medicinal benefits.

Putting a little bit into your coffee in the morning would be a safer way in my opinion, and also oral routes always last longer as well.

However, I would still advise to take prescribed medications from pharm. companies because you know they have no impurities/questionable adulterants, you have a steady supply (the pharmacy will be a 10 to 15 minute wait and most likely will always give you your script on time, if you don't abuse it as opposed to dealers who are usually high themselves, and on the meth life calender, who have a shaky consistency with supply) and finally, the legal ramifications of being caught with methamphetamine or meth paraphernalia like a peelo.

Please try to use prescribed scripts, and if you must, try to make smoking only a thing for enjoyment every once in awhile. I don't think I have met a single tweaker who does meth everyday and doesn't have some sort of tumultuous or unstable lifestyle. Please try the safer route.

Lastly, I'm not ragging on you or lecturing you, at least not trying to. My knowledge is limited to hobbyist and I myself am close to coming down off a 2 day binge. So I'm not judging you, I just simply think that this is not at all a safe way of medicating ADD.

I hope you don't experience any major problems, and I hope your treatment goes well. I can completely empathize with your feelings. Be safe.

Yes, you could use crystal meth (methamphetamine) to treat ADHD. But why? Modern, slow-release oral forms of dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, Adderall) are way easier, safer, and more effective.

I think that's the important factor: slow release. No spikes or sudden dips in drug level. The slower and steadier the drug is released, the better.

Crystal meth is the opposite of this goal. It's designed for release as fast as possible in whatever form it's taken. That's the main problem with it. You could make it work, with a lot of trouble and inferior results. Would make sense only if no alternative.

If you did have to use methamphetamine for ADHD, here are some tips:

1) Low & slow. Keep the dose tiny and take it slow. Daily dose total can be around same as your regular dextro- dose. Spread it through day as evenly as possible. And do the math on the tiny doses needed. Dissolving it into a liquid would make measuring and everything else a lot easier. But still a pain.

2) Don't let it fuck with your sleep.

3) Try changing up your dextro- prescription in many ways before thinking you might have to use methamphetamine instead. Dextro- is very flexible and very safe and it's surprising how little differences in dose or time can really alter effect.

for adhd the dose would be super low your probably doing way more than the therapeutic dose that would be used for adhd.

this threads 2 years old

What do you mean? In a case like this, where the question is relevant and likely to occur to others, is there a problem with answering it here in this thread?

I'm just trying to figure out why you said "this threads 2 years old". Is there a better way to share the information than answering the question here in the original thread?

Explain yourself. Please. Thx!

Yeah based on what you've said it seems as tho you have a psychological and physical dependency. I would suggest stopping your doses and get over the withdrawal period.

Also I have ADHD and I seem to have grown out of it for the most part I'm just sometimes a bit more energetic than most so I would suggest not treating your ADHD for a while to see how that fairs and if it's too hard to control then go to a medical professional for a script of concerta or som
