It took some researching and asking around to figure out that there was a lot working against me that night, and when I tried it again later it wasn't as bad. It's not the most amazing thing ever though. I've met people who love receiving and for me it's just kind of meh. It's because a lot more can go wrong with anal sex. It requires good communication and a lot of self-awareness.
I'd be interested to hear how woman compare anal to vaginal intercourse. I'm tempted to say that anal is always more painful but I dunno.
