It has long been the case that capital makes capital. The question is, will the monopoly needed for socialism to actually work ever be allowed to be achieved? I find it much more likely that we will work out fusion power, with nano bots that can self replicate and create everything we ever want with a thought. Meaning no more use for money, and little to no work. The question is what will the surrogate activities be when every day is a bank holiday? Or does work breed character and appreciation for free time?
 
Good questions, I don't see the necessity of a monopoly other than a monopoly of power in the hands of... the proletariat! Let's see how that pans out, the greek situation may be bringing us closer to judgement day.

I think it would just result in moving us backward rather than forward. The sooner we play this game to the end, the sooner we can achieve emancipation from work and have our needs of food, shelter and stuff met. Attempting anything vaguely socialist before the true monopoly is like pressing the pause button for the country that does it. Lenin thought he was there, and look how far we've come since. Imagine where we will be in another 100 years.

he told melvyn bragg that he was very proud and glad to be a member of the upper class.. he says he now lives like the aristocracy.. he was very insulted by melvyn asking him if he was now middle class "no melvyn. YOU are middle class" irvine's pont was that he saw the middle class asa struggling people.. always struggling to by the next holiday, the next car atr. personally tho, i prefer the term "petite bourgeoise"

I think I'm missing something!
Money is only worth something to some people if there is something they want.

Money is only worth something to some people if there are people who need it for things they want.

So my conclusion is that if the people who need things realise that these things are not important to them the people with money would have to find another way of inflating their egos by inventing a different system of making people need them.

This of course is a paradox of greed and envy which causes the world to turn.

Who insignificant are WE all when we've being playing these games since time began.

To deal with the imbalance of time and conscious progression we must address the major question of life it self.

Why, what, who are we?

Once that fundamental question of human existence is understood then the ego games will cease and every person on this planet instead of moaning of the injustice of everything will strive in a positive way to make a change on an individual level.

If this omega point of human existence is met we will be privileged to see the the biggest release of compressed energy and change since the beginning of time itself!

It's down to us all people, peace and love everyone and I love you all x mop

they already have, they're called the middle class- rather the middle class would like to gain more wealth. They want what the upper aristocracy has (an address in central london) they'll have to content themselves with hackney - where - its - at
 
Wealth is all relative. If you claim the dole in the UK (4000 pounds a year, give or take) you are in the wealthiest 22.8% of people in the world. There are 5,097,242,345 (more than 5.0 billion) people less wealthy than you. You are 10 times wealthier than a billion people. Factor in free healthcare and education and you really have it easy compared to the vast majority on this planet.

You all should check your privilege.
