Matisyahu- one day ft. Akon just seems to hit me to my core. I like the original just as much as the remix. I love all his music, but Light seemed to come out right when I needed it. I'm also a huge fan of his song confidence.

Here's some of the lyrics to one day the original.
See everybody that´s existing
Got a mind of their own
We´re all Kings and Queens
With a throne of our own
Tryin to raise a family
Is an empty home
We got to learn to stick together
Hate to be here alone
'Cause the world is a place
That will eat you alive in one day
Said the world is a place
That you can´t survive without faith
Sometimes in my tears I drown
But I never let it get me down
So when negativity surrounds
I know some day it´ll all turn around
Because
All my life I´ve been waiting for
I´ve been praying for
For the people to say
That we don´t wanna fight no more
They´ll be no more wars
And our children will play
One day (one day), One day (one day)
One day (one day), One day (one day)
One day (one day), One day (one day)
It´s not about
Win or lose
We all lose
When they feed on the souls of the innocent
Blood drenched pavement
Keep on moving though the waters stay raging
In this maze you can lose your way (your way)
It might drive you crazy
But don't let it faze you no way (no way)
Gotta hold on
Livin life day by day
Gotta hold on
Put your focus on that one day

True that.
Personally speaking, certain parts of Bl are wonderful places to leave the basement door ajar to, though. ;)
*rule 34 dicktates this will be misconstrued.

Love the essence of this. :)<3
Reminds me of a few sweet people i am lucky to have met.

Lots but the 3 that spring to mind are pretty well known but they still get me every time ;

Johnny Cash - Hurt
A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless
Alice in Chains - Junkhead

I'm sure most know the lyrics well but will come back and post some when I'm awake properly.

Portishead - Roads

I got nobody on my side
And surely that ain't right
And surely that ain't right

Ohh, can't anybody see
We've got a war to fight
Never found our way
Regardless of what they say

How can it feel, this wrong
From this moment
How can it feel, this wrong

Propagandhi - Iteration

Donald wept through the proceedings.
His tears soaked through the canvas that cloaked his twisted face and they stained orange jumpsuit where with such rare distinction he once displayed the evidence of his outstanding contributions to the maintenance of a kingdom come.
But those days are gone.
He's nothing more than a number on a docket thick with shareholder, engineers, PR firms, politicians: war-profiteers.
"How the fuck did I end up here? This just isn't fair. Ain't no place for a millionaire."
He searches for the words to stop this table in mid-turn, like "we are but old men" and "we only did what we were told",
but the laughter from the gallery drowns out these vestiges of a profession's oldest defense.
"The court will direct the record to reflect compliments from the bench; you sir, are central casting's crowning achievement.
And for your outstanding performance in a comedic role, I'd like to dedicate the findings of the jury to the dead."

But how can one man ever repay a debt so appalling? Can't gouge 10,000 eyes from a single head

So I think we should observe a sentence that will serve to satisfy both a sense of function and poetry: so you will spend the rest of your days drenched in sweat,
With your face drawn in a rictus of terror as you remove another buried land mine fuse.
Meanwhile, 100 yards back behind the sandbags, a legless foreman pulls the trigger on a red megaphone.
Squelching feedback. Drunken laughter. Broken English. His dead daughter's picture.
Time and tide, no one can anticipate the inevitable waves of change.

Dobie Grey - Drift Away
The Beatles - Across the Universe
CCR - As Long as I Can See the Light
Janis Joplin - Cry Baby
Janis Joplin - One Night Stand
Neil Young - Journey Through the Past
-Love in Mind
- Don't Be Denied
-Barstool Blues
- Bad Fog of Loneliness

The Band. - Whispering Pines
The Band. -Twilight (scratch track from box set)
The Band -Acadian Driftwood

Etc etc...
I'll add more, but all of these have a special place in my heart....

In fact the whole Neil Young Live at Massey Hall record is my 'happy place'...
It's where I go when I need to escape....I've seen every Neil show in Toronto since 2006, I will never miss one....

^^^^its hard for me to post specific lyrics...the whole song, the dynamics, progressions, and lyrical content create something very deep for me, it's as if time fades away....
