How did you decide on your screen name, and what does it mean if obscure?

It's the name of Teddy Rockspin's brother who turned into a pedo. Pedo bear ain't got nothing on the depths of his depravity.

Donnie Darko is one of my favorite movies. The scene where Donnie is sitting through Jim Cunningham's bullshit seminar and he sees the slideshow, His name is Frank. That's when it really clicked for Donnie. He knew that he wasn't losing his mind after all. That the world has been trying to send him a message.

I can relate to that scene, because I've had quite a few of those moments myself.

Nice, I didn't even think of that. Great movie too

Well...

The fear really hits you. That's what you feel first. And then it's the anger and frustration. Part of the problem is how little we understand about the ultimate betrayal of the body when it rebels against itself.

Not really, my username is a closely guarded secret. None the less, that isn't a bad quote.

ad lib = prescription drug label lingo for "take freely/as desired".

since prescription drugs are my vice, I tend to use them ad lib even if that's not what the instructions say. cheesy, huh?

Gr33n3y3z....

Self explanatory. As for the number 3 I like the way it looks and other reasons.

When I was in HS (and years after as well) I had a best friend named Layla. When i would write notes to her I would always sign it

Love
Always,
Your
Little
Ali

For some reason or another I had to change my sn here (used to be "on the road") so since Layla had passed away i dedicated my new sn to her....
adorable.

whatthefuck, Max? you shouldn't be allowed to delete your own posts.

not much of a story behind my handle. it still is because i've become "hydro." my only reason for changing would be to get rid of any reference to drugs. i don't associate being called the shortened version with drugs. right now the only thing i'm interested in is the replication, preservation, and inevitable loss of beauty. this phenomenon's relevance to works of still & moving film. and vice-versa. i don't wanna work "hydro" into that. i'll change my name when i become really interested in something that relates to water.

nope. i was reading the thread backward. so when i saw this...
I was hoping it was from The Simpsons.
Only a complete loser would do something like that.
...i was anticipating an explanation of your choice. now i see the the post above silentangst's is by cletus. knowing your love of The Simpsons and tendency for self-deprecating humor, i think i got it figured out. google confirms. reading the episode summary gives me a theory about why.

so my bad. and damn, i gotta revisit The Simpsons.

Oh man, you're onto me. Yikes. 8o

And yes, you really do need to revisit this masterpiece of a show. You won't believe how many Godard references they make.

My favorite Simpsons episodes are the Halloween episodes. Do they have all of them available together on a DVD or Blu-ray box set?

They do. My favorite THOH moment was when Maggie finally talked and it was James Earl Jones' voice.

"This is truly a disturbing universe."

back in 08 presidential election there was this guy

Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (/ˈwɜrzəlbɑːkər/; born December 3, 1973), better known by the nickname "Joe the Plumber", is an American conservative activist and commentator. He gained national attention during the 2008 U.S. presidential election when, during a videotaped campaign stop in Ohio by then-Democratic candidate Barack Obama, Wurzelbacher asked Obama about his small business tax policy, and Obama gave a response that included the statement, "when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody." Obama's response was seized on by conservative commentators, as well as by Obama's rival, Republican candidate John McCain, as an indication that Obama was interested in the redistribution of wealth, and had a socialist view of the economy.

he was a plumber, i was a stoner, my name is not joe. i just voted for obama cause i thought it would be better for the cause... ehhhhh i dunno but reading this http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/...ijuana-washington-colorado-doj_n_3837034.html maybe ?

artist names often consist out of multiple words. a long time ago, i registered on different kinds of forums in close succession and seperated the words of my favourite arists to use each as a username for a different forum. so the "black" is just one part of "black sun empire" to which i incidentally hardly listen anymore.

I was watching pirated copies of Star Trek Voyager when I made this account.
