Shrooms in Amsterdam. Legal?

Just sorted out my trip to Amsterdam this August, so fucking excited for it =D
I've agreed with my mate that we have to try out the shrooms while we're there, but then I hear that they are technically illegal in Holland since around 2005/2006. But Amsterdam is Amsterdam so I'm sure they're still pretty easy to obtain.

So how easy are they to get hold of, do they still have shops set up that sell them? And would it be illegal to be under the influence of them around the streets of Dam?

Cheers for any help

You can buy truffles in every smartshop. You're better off not roaming around the streets too much in Amsterdam while high on shrooms, just go to a park and trip there.

Wisely spoken, a foreign city in a foreign country can be far too much to handle on mushrooms so a park or the large Museum square (a park like the Vondel park is still better) is recommended. It's not a matter of "I can handle it, my mind is strong", nature is just a better backdrop and the different setting can be overwhelming for pretty much anyone.

Truffles or philosopher's stones are still legal, they contain the same compounds as mushrooms and they are also products of Psilocybe fungi - the only thing is they can be slightly milder although you can buy truffles / sclerotia like Dragons Dynamite that sound like they are pretty much on par with regular Cubensis mushrooms. 1/2 dose is probably enough or maybe 3/4.
Some smartshops (I am specifically talking about one outside of Amsterdam but who knows) still secretly carry the mushrooms themselves and/or research chemicals like 4-AcO-DMT or 2C-X. But you have a good chance that they will not sell them to tourists or even mention or admit that they have them. And you didn't hear me say this ;)

They were made illegal there about 1.5-2 years ago.

I second going to Vondel Park. Its beautiful while shrooming....

The Hawaiian Mushrooms were literally like 2 tabs of crazy blotter....too bad.

Tripping at Vondel park is magic! Stand on the little bridge and look at the water, its straight out of a Disney movie.

While I was there tripping some guy came up and asked to use my lighter and proceeded to light his shirt sleeve on fire as he lit his cigarette. It was one of the funniest and weirdest moments of my life. Just watch out for the bums there, they can be a total bummer while tripping.

I went to amsterdam 3 years ago, after the mushrooms were criminalized and they still sold hawaiin mushrooms.. which was my first psychedelic experience and my strongest to date. i'm not sure what the current status is anymore, but back then they were still blatantly selling p. cyanascens to tourists who weren't even 18 (we were 17) lol

The truffles are definately still legal! Also you can still buy/order grow kits to harvest your own shrooms at home :)

they are illegal but can still be gotten under the counter in some shops

Good advice, especially for foreigners who live in countries like the UK where cars drive on the other side of the road. You'll have cars coming at you from the left, then when you've decided you can shoot across to the safety of the middle, you'll have trams coming straight at you, ringing their bells and grinding the metal tracks as they bear inexorably down upon you 8o

Parks are better, esp. the Vondel Park :)

Mushrooms were banned in 2007, 'truffles' are still legal, and they contain psilocin and psilocybin just like regular mushrooms, so in that sense they're still legal. Still for sale in the same smartshops too.

Het vondelpark is indeed a good place to trip, I had some of my own first shroom trips there. Other then that, if you have a nice not too small and private hotel room, that can be a good idea too. Amsterdam is quite crowded most of the time and shrooms can be quite confusing, and the last thing we want is tourists doing stupid stuff on truffles too and cause them to be banned as well.

Truffles are immense. I'd recommend staying in your hotel room until you've peaked then go for a wander it's amazing.

I almost got hit by a tram when I was there and it scared the shit out of me =/
I can't imagine how would that feel on shrooms...
