Stimulants Magnesium + Adderall

^Yeah, in my experience, I get that effect too, it's from the amp-induced peripheral vasoconstriction. What happens is the body goes in to an ampetamine-induced fight-or-flight mode where it retains blood around the vital organs. L-Argenine will definitely help with this but probably won't get you to 100%. For that you would need to ask your doc and they should help you out with a scrip for a general vasodialater. Unfortunately I have found that this effect can also mess with your penis functionality. If this is the case than definitely go with Viagra or one of the other ones, it works amazingly well.

I can definently tell a difference when I take it. I just find it hilarious looking at all these supplements you can take to balance your self out with this crap.

@Soap:

regarding Chelated Magnesium, i grabbed this from enzymestuff.com:

"a chemically reacted magnesium ion, bound to 1 or more amino acids, thus allowing the magnesium to enter through the intestinal wall via the amino acid pathway rather than active magnesium diffusion."

it's an OTC supplement that will be available at just about any retail chain that specializes in nutrition. it's cheap too.

I have been taking stupid amounts of adderall, like 300mg or so daily.

8o ~ that's an incredible amount of Adderall! an impressive yet frighteningly huge amount of Adderall. this is just me telling you i'm a little concerned about your AMP intake. please stay safe.

^Thanks, Yeah. You're right. I'm in a bad way right now. I'm trying to turn it around to reasonable therapeutic levels. I had a 3-day spree of success with this so I have hope. I know it can be done, and this is the current crisis and struggle in my life I'm trying to overcome.

Try harder.

I hate to be that blunt, but sometimes it's the only way to reach people who've become so far out on amphetamines that the mirage of "reasonable therapeutic levels" seems a likelihood for them. I lost my roommate and best friend to amphetamine psychosis just three months ago; he never returned from the fantasy-land the psychosis created for him. He is now institutionalized. The whole thing was dramatic and terribly sad, and I watched it happen over the course of two agonizingly slow years. Attempted to physically take his pills from him at one point. The quiet, happy-go-lucky semi-loner I once knew flew into an uncontrollable rage and I had to sleep with a US Marine Corps knife under my pillow for two weeks out of sheer terror that he would kill me.

That having been said, you're obviously not psychotic. You make intelligent posts here, very well-worded and helpful. You appear to have an adequate grasp on reality as we know it. But if you continue to take a third of a gram of amphetamine salts per day, you most certainly are inducing brain dysfunction/damage (possibly irreversible, as per my roommate's case) and you may never again be the "you" you've identified with your entire life. I mean, does this not scare you? There have been several threads on BL I've seen in just the past couple days where someone has quoted your posts regarding your amphetamine intake with such emoticons as :\ or 8o or 8( , followed by a sentence or two expressing their genuine concern for your health and well-being.

I'm not trying to harp on you, Soap MacTavish; I do not, in fact, know you in any way. But in the spirit of a community where harm reduction is the focus, as well as after what I've been through losing my friend over two agonizing years, I feel obliged to implore you to try harder. The brain is a wonderful, fantastic organ. It allows for every single function we identify as being "strictly human." Please consider that your amphetamine abuse may be slowly raping you of these functions, and that you may in fact be unable to be aware of its deleterious effects on you until it is too late.

Stay safe, man. And I hope you're able to succeed. I only wish the best for anyone struggling with addiction. Hell, I feel like I've been hopelessly addicted to just about everything at one point or another, and it's nothing short of a miracle that I'm still here. My very best wishes on your crisis and struggle.

Much love,

~ vaya

Hey guys,

I've searched around and found mixed feelings towards Magnesium (Citrate) supplementing and adderall tolerance

I am currently on an ongoing 3 month adderall tolerance break that concludes next month

I also recently bought a 90 capsule Magnesium Citrate 200 mg supplement bottle. Should I be taking a capsule of the Magnesium Citrate everyday BEFORE i start using adderall again? Will doing so further help lower my tolerance before I start using adderall again? Or is magnesium citrate only useful to be taken after an adderall dose?

Thanks guys

First of all the only form of Magnesium you should be taking is the "Chelated Magnesium Glycinate" (you can get it online, just google it, I use Solgar brand) form of Magnesium as its BA (Bio-availability) is WAY higher and actually absorbs into your body, almost all the other forms of magnesium out there are worthless as they all pretty much have 0% B.A... Cheap stuff like Magnesium Oxide is the most common and cheapest form of magnesium sold in stores and is barley absorbed into the body. That's why when u take Mag. Oxide it makes you shit - it just goes right through you, that's also why its used as laxative so you don't want mag. oxide. Even Mag. citrate is not that great in the B.A. department.

Even though you have the citrate form of magnesium it's still better then the oxide form so take it.

Magnesium + Amphetamine Benefits
Taking Magnesium while using an amp, like adderall in your case, is a GREAT idea that will actually help you in a noticeably psychical and mental way. Magnesium is involved in many important biological processes. Up to half of all the magnesium in your body is found in your bones, but magnesium is also involved in regulating blood pressure, blood sugar, muscle movement, nerve function, the immune system, energy metabolism and much more.

You should be for sure taking your magnesium pills while your taking adderall (amphetamines in general). Magnesium will help with so many things its ridiculous.. Most importantly, it will help your muscles relax, helps make the comedown easier, improves mood and it even helps you SLEEP! Its said Chelated Magnesium Glycinate can even cure some peoples depression/anxiety as some peoples depression/anxiety is brought on simply by a magnesium deficiency. Unless your eating spinach everyday everyone should supplement with chelated magnesium glycinate, at least occasionally, b/c not many food items we consume today have enough magnesium in them. I know when I first started taking the "right" form of magnesium (Chelated) I cold for sure feel the effects mentally and physically the first dose - which is weird for a supplement/vitamin. And if you take your whole dose at night it will help you sleep real good, which is pretty cool sense it actually works. It should really help with your "comedown" too.

Magnesium really is an amazing mineral, I would say one of the best - its a good supplement everyone should have in their vitamin/supplement stashes. B/c you feel the effects right away off just one 100% DV dose, its not like it takes 2 weeks before you feel the effects.

PS (to Mods) - Sorry to bump/answer this old thread but I just thought this was good knowledge that not a lot of people know & that could help some people. Especially those who take amps/stims.
