Anyone love taking massive close ups with the Macro function on their Camera?

I have just purchased a pretty expensive camera that can take amazing detail and I haven't been able to put it down =D

Here's some of my most interesting shot's so far!

Anyone else have any macro shot's they would love to share .... I know I can't be the only one!

It's a new generation of SR Camera's. Most people are used to the SLR Camera's where you have to change lenses.

I can't be bothred to change lenses so I brought and SR, it can take massive close ups and Landscape shot's and you never have to change lenses.

Really Happy with my purchase.

Some of my macros. I use my DSLR, a Raynox DCR-250 and a zoom lens. The Raynox is a stunning piece of kit for an amazing price.

Nice - I love macro shots, and I dig insects. BTW, that's a praying mantis not a grasshopper. My good macro shots of bugs on are on a disc somewhere...

If you do have a DLSR, you can always flip the lens around, hold it up to the lens mount (carefully), and have your macro shot magnified by a large large amount. The only negative is the extremely shallow DOF.

I love macro photography, although I don't have a good set up for it just yet.

^^ That's hot...

=D

I <3 macro. When I get a DSLR I'll be going on a macro spree :)

I also think the Zipper photo by Sancho is pretty fly!

Macro opens up a whole new world of photography! I find myself walking down the street and looking at the small things that may make an interesting macro shot. Stuff I never bothered to notice before.

Here's some more shot's I have taken in the last 24 hours lolwut!

Macro is probably my most used function on my camera. I only have a Canon S5IS, but it's still a pretty amazing camera, imo, for a partially automated one. Flowers are probably my favourite thing to snap on a macro setting.

Here are a couple i've taken over the years:

I think another macro round is on the cards for the photo comp soon & we should probably have one more often, because the subject is so wide open to interpretation.

Never "HAVE TO" change lenses?!

You say that like changing lenses is some sort of chore. 8( I can swap a lens, with both end caps, in less than 5 seconds. Oh the horror.

Some people who have been raised on point-and-shoots and have never worked with an SLR might find keeping track of different lenses daunting. There's nothing wrong with taking an in-between step when making the transition between P&S and SLRs. Plus there's the whole expense issue as well.

I love macro photography. Here's what I have hosted (all taken with a 4-year-old Canon P&S):

I have tons more, but am too lazy to host them right now. Plus I have a second-hand DSLR coming to me soon, and can't wait to take some amazing photos.

does this count as macro? difficult with minimum focal length of ~2ft!
apologies if it doesnt ;)
