DUDE, are they your photos?

they're epic. The clover one (#1) is great, love the bokeh/blur in the background. The delysid one is also :D :D - where on earth did you find that box? I've always wanted a vial or a box of some Sandoz delysid.

the ant photo is also damn cool; shame it's not a little clearer?

^ Man these photo's are amazing! Wish i had money for an expensive lens.

Some pictures i took with the 300mm lens, still playing around with the camera at the moment ;)

Malakaix I really like the lighting in the first picture, looks great, kinda like a piece of modern art.

Is the second photo a raindrop? Also a nice idea although perhaps a faster shutter speed would increase the photo?

Yeah i didn't really like the second photo, was more experimenting with how well i could capture motion.. :) Still playing around with a few different settings

Not true macros but still closer than usual photos. Taken with a 55mm Nikkor lens.

This is with the Raynox DCR-150 combined with a 55-200mm zoom lens. For £40 Raynox lenses are amazing. There's more DOF with the 150 compared to the 250.

I don't actually own a camera capable of macro to ridiculous levels of detail, but here's one I took with my friend's SLR

I dont have my awesome camera at the moment as a friend is borrowing it so this was just taken using a crappy lil digital one but i really like it :)

Shit, thanks man that's the biggest compliment I have ever got lol!

That delysid box was in the Melbourne Museum ... same with the ant, spider and ape skull.

Imo, often people think the more money they spend on equipment the better the pictures.

That's true to a certain point .... BUT I reckon mostly about your creativity.

What equipment do you use?

My whole set up cost US$500 new and providing I don't drop the thing onto concrete I don't need to spend anymore money on photography for a few years at least.

The kit Sancho suggested sounds like it's worth looking into.

Yeah, the Raynox will fit on most lenses. It basically reduces the minimum focus distance on any lens, it's surprisingly good for the price.

Say my zoom lens has a minimum focus distance of 100cm, with the Raynox attached it's about 10cm.

It does cause a shallow depth of field, so a small aperture is required and lots of light.

You should seriously consider a Raynox DCR-250 if it will fit your lens. This is a Bic ballpoint pen at 200mm

Wow awesome! Thanks for the info, will definitely look into that :)

I use a Canon EOS 50D with a 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens (im recently new to DSLR photography). Yeah that kit Sancho suggested looks very appealing and ill definitely be looking into it, i love macro photography.. so if that fits my lens.. that would be very cool.
