Welcome to the Music Discussion forum! This forum has been designated as a place for music junkies, DJs, and people who are just fond of that tune that came out of their jukebox to converse and share information/ideas on all topics pertaining to electronic music.

Here in Music Discussion we like to create a friendly environment and are always open to new ideas and criticism so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have anything to share.

Music Discussion is a fun and loving forum, however, there are still a few basic rules that must be followed in order to maintain the friendly atmosphere. We try not to ask for much here, however we ask that these rules be followed at all times.

1. Keep discussion on the topic of Music. Posts outside of this focus will be closed, especially posts requesting music to enhance drug use. Recommendations of 'drugmusic' go here

2. No flaming! There???s nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone or taking a playful jab, but outright flaming will NOT be tolerated.

3. Song IDs: Include in the topic either the genre or some kind of indicator as to what you???re looking for (i.e. who played it, what it was a remix of, outstanding samples etc.). Track IDs will be allowed their own thread for one week and then will be merged with the official track ID thread. Feel free to use that thread instead of making your own if you like.

4. No Selling! The occasional link to an auction on eBay is acceptable, but please don???t try to sell anything directly through Bluelight. This is the policy across the board, and EMD is no exception.

5. Use the Search Function!! Many topics/questions have been covered before, and you can find them by simply using the search function. There???s also tons of useful information in the FAQs, so please look there before asking.

6. Promoters Seeking DJs/DJs Seeking Bookings: Promoters may post topics seeking DJs, but DJs may not start topics saying that they???re available for bookings. The vast majority of people in this forum are DJs, and if we allowed this, the forum would be littered with booking threads. Posts about your new mixes or productions may be made, but please keep them in the sticky threads at the top of the forum.

7. Refrain from all caps posts/alternating caps or they will be closed; they are obnoxious and unecessary.

8. Threads requesting software cracks or warez will be closed! This is stealing, and will not be tolerated on Bluelight.

9. Again, please use the search when trying to start a thread about either: records acquired, new sets uploaded, etc. Post your additions in the existing thread first if it is under 100 posts. By grouping these posts together it cuts down on the bandwidth use for the site and it's one singular thread that people can keep track of a lot easier.

10. We do not allow linking to direct downloading sites for illegal music. It is okay to link to live sets that the DJs themselves have posted, promos etc. etc., but it's a grey area with a lot of radio mixes.

11. As with all other forums, all aspects of the BLUA are in full effect. Please refresh your memory if you cannot remember what the BLUA consists of so that you do not break any other site-wide rules.

12. Threads about upcoming or past events are allowed only if the thread's topic is about the musical/production aspect of the festival/rave/gig etc. All threads talking about the event as a whole should be placed in the proper events forum.

13. Threads which advertise podcasts and/or any streaming DJ shows/sets should be posted in the appropriate webcasts thread. If links to shows are posted elsewhere they will be deleted.

Although it is part of our duties as moderators to handle rule breaking posts, occasionally we'll miss a few. (we are human... kinda.)
Because of this we ask that you report problematic posts whenever you see them so that we know exactly where to look and exactly what to fix.
We reserve the right to delete any posts without notice.

Thank you so much for your time and please remember to follow all of the rules! If you have any questions or concerns feel free to PM any one of the Music & DJs crew members, as we will be more than willing to help you! If not, go out into the forum and have some fun!!!

Keep on keepin' on.

-Music Discussion crew.
