I've been prescribed:

Lorazepam 1 MG 2x a day.
Trazodone HCL 100 MG 1x at night.
Seroquel 50MG 1x at night.

he gave you
Lorazepam 1 MG 2x a day.
Trazodone HCL 100 MG 1x at night.
Seroquel 50MG 1x at night.

whats the problem?

Well he's given you 3 fairly heavy duty sedatives, one an Anxiolytic (Lorazepam), one an Antidepressant (Trazodone) and one an atypical Antipsychotic (Seroquel).

I'm not sure I quite understand your question though. You went to your doctor for a reason, what was it?

What can you deduce from this? Are these on the high or low end of the dosage amount? What happens when I take these drugs? Any immediate effects? euphoria? High? I told him I'm extremely self-conscious and have a slight problem with insomnia.

Dude, why didn't you ask him the effects of each drug when you were in his office? Did you actually see a doctor? Your story sounds ridiculous.

Wwe spoke for a little bit and he said the nurse would be back with the prescriptions. She handed it to me and I left. There are instructions on the medications on when to take them. But I dont know what each of them do or what they do in combination.

Seroquel 50MG 1x at night.

The problem is the fucking Seroquel. STOP taking that immediately, that is what is fucking you up the most.

See a different doctor, and if all you have is a problem with sleep than the Lorazepam or Trazodone will help with that, but you don't NEED both. If your problem is just with insomnia, find a different doctor and talk to him about Zopiclone, or Ambien, or Trazodone. Because Trazodone does help a lot with sleep, and it would be a lot safer for you not to get started on benzodiazepines - like Lorazepam. The Seroquel will totally fuck you up and you won't remember anything. Anti-psychotics prescribed to you for an INSOMNIA issue? Dude, your doctor has some SERIOUS fucking mental problems.

Find a new doctor is the #1 step you need to take.
#2 - Discuss with him Trazodone, Zopiclone, or Ambien.
#3 - Pick ONE of those only, even though I would probably choose Trazodone for you because it is non-addictive, and Zopiclone and Ambien can be both psychologically and physically addicting if used for long periods of time. If you just need something for a few weeks, than I would suggest asking for Zopiclone (Imovane) is what its called in Canada. In the US, I think its eszcopiclone or Lunesta. - Yeah Zopiclone in the U.S. is called Lunesta, but Lunesta is not near as strong as Imovane (the version up here in Canada) because Lunesta only contains I think 3mg of Zopiclone, and where is in Canada Imovane (Zopiclone) contains 7.5MG.

Anyways - thats what you have to do. Good luck.

Seroquel is toxic to me. My doctor and I tried it for insomnia. I took it 2x and threw out the rest. Ambien used to work real well for me, but it loses it efficacy after repeated doses and I find it toxic to my system as well. Currently, I am taking an extremely low dose of ativan (lorazepam). I take only .375 mgs a night and will be off it next week as Benzos are a short term answer. I really take that Ativan because I go through cycles of anxiety and alot of it is night time related.

Op,

Your doctor has a license to practice medicine for a reason. Use patience while you exercise trust with her/his judgement. Not to worry - your system is currently adjusting to a new medicine regimine, so within one month you will be experiencing your new, 'normal', states of consciousness. Your medicines consist of average therapeutic doses.

I find Seroquel extremely effective for insomnia, and have never had side effects from it. I've never understood people's hatred of it

I have a similar regimine
Trazodone 50MG
Temazepam 30mg
Seroquel 50mg

I alternate. One night I take Seroquel, the next I take Trazodone and Temazepam. Works great for me

Did your doctor specifically tell you to take them all at the same time? If not, I'd experiment a bit. Try them individually, then try combos if necessary. That's what my doc did for me (gave me those above + Ambien), and I figured out what worked

You feel better? I've been pretty fucking depressed lately. No energy. No libido. I wonder if all this will work. I'm taking the Seroquel and Trazodone as a combo. And I take the Lorazepam 2x a day. I took ambien for a while but it didn't work.

I think the doctor said he would give me an antidepressants but I told him no. I'm very skeptical about the whole pharmacuetical company conspiracy.

I was put on Seroquel for depression and it felt like I was given a lobotomy! Mirtazapine is good for treating both anxiety and depression.

Honestly, if your problem is just some mild insomnia - you do NOT need a fucking antipsychotic. - Your Doctor is stupid period. Get off the SEROQUEL, it will seriously mess you up. I've seen people go completely insane from that shit, and then couldn't even function after.

All you need is the Trazodone, and the Lorazepam if you have anxiety. I'd watch the Benzodiazepines (Lorazepam) because if used for too long they can cause severe physical and psychological dependence.

But you are totally safe taking the Trazodone. Get rid of the Seroquel though, stop taking it and throw it in the garbage.

I honestly suggest that you see a different doctor. I can't believe he prescribed you 3 drugs like that for a mild insomnia issue.

Wtf

Seroquel for depression - WHAT the fuck?? Is your doctor a fucking undergraduate? The only way that seroquel could possibly fix depression is by obliterating ALL thoughts in your mind altogether to the point where you can't experience anything - depression or happiness.

What do you mean by that? What happens to me when I take that? What will happen?

pftek: Read my post above his. DO NOT TAKE THE FUCKING SEROQUEL AND YOU WILL FEEL MUCH BETTER. I have listed different options for you, but you don't seem to read them. Get a new doctor, your doctor is a CROCK.

End of Story, Period. :!

I have pretty bad insomnia (ambien does not work) and depression (ssri dont work). What is Seroqual for or is it just an obsolete drug with no use? It has no beneficial to my use?

Seroquel will make you feel more depressed, or infact, not let you have any emotions whatsoever. Please, throw the Seroquel out for the safety of your brain.

For Insomnia, the Lorazepam + Trazodone at night will work wonderfully.

For severe depression, I don't have a damn clue because I have severe depression as well as severe anxiety, and have been on Paxil for years, but just upped my dosage of Paxil to 60mg about a year ago. SSRI's mainly only help for Anxiety, plus i'm on Clonazepam, and am benzo dependent, but am currently tapering off VERY slowly with an addiction specialist.

So for depression you could try Remeron (Mirtazepine), other than that, I have no idea. Depression is the hardest to cure.

What your doctor is doing is using both seroquel (anti-psychotic) and trazadone (mood stabilizer) partially for their off-label effects.

If you decide to cease your medicines, speak with your doctor first. Abruptly ceasing such medicines can trigger unsafe behaviors.

You think the clonazopam is better than the lorazopam?
