Clear crystals are the best. Don't over do it on those or you WILL be floored.(know from personal experience)
Color means nothing.. you could get a PURE MDMA roll in green, blue, pink, yellow, ect.. and MDMA crystal is actually Light Brown & Off White..

I thought lumps of MDMA are normally off brown/pink/clear? No set colour? White i thought generally suggests it had been cut with sweetner or some other more nasty bit

Colors/binders etc. are not impurities, because they don't affect how your body processes MDMA at all. To my knowledge, the color of MDMA powder and crystal varies because of the way it's been processed, it's not an indication of quality or purity.

Shulgin synthesized pharmaceutical grade chemicals, and in both of his reported synthesis routes, which is what I presume you mean by "way it's been processed", the resulting crystals were white. Any other colour is an indication of impurity. Simple as that.
MDMA is MDMA and pure MDMA is a white crystal.

Doesn't say that they're different colors - only that they've got a different melting point (a common quick test for purity - impurities lower melting point. So that's a very relevant fact to a chemist).
MDMA is white, any color is due to colorful impurities.
That is from Alexander Shulgin's synthesis. He even states that it is a white salt. That is all I was trying to point out. As long as it is done right, and washed correctly it will always be a white salt. now the boiling point he is refering to is only on long one would heat it.
Indeed the pure salt appears white but this is only due to light reflecting and defracting off the many tiny crystals. A single MDMA crystal is transluscent not white.
