Can someone recommend me a good mix of 2003/2004 era prog house. Something nice and uplifting, but not "commercial".

Thanks!

^ i would suggest looking for live mixes from nick warren or jody wisternoff around that time. way out west released "don't look now" in '04 so those guys were really on top of progressive house and progressive breaks. i think there was even a mix cd included if you bought that album in certain formats, although i don't remember much else about it.

funny that this is the thread where i was talking about 'power prog' a little over a year ago. i recently finished a new mix of big, beautiful progressive and i'm still totally drawn to that beefier sound. check it out if you like, but note that it's a cross-genre buffet of progressive - house, psy, techno, and (dare i say) some trancey bits: pacific tree prog

I can't believe no-one's mentioned the Ajunadeep compilations by name yet. They were the albums which got me into prog house, and there's some killer tracks on there as well...or is there some sort of stigma here regarding Above and Beyond?

No Stigma! lol Feel free to discuss whatever. :)

I was about to do a Progressive House top 10. But then I realised that my alltime favourite progressive house track (the Way Out West remix of James Holden - Horizons) isn't on youtube - it used to be, but it got taken down :( So I'm gonna have to wait until someone re-uploads it before I do my top 10 :)

Well well, you're searching for exactly the sound I loved back then.

Try searching for mixes by the following DJ's (not their newest newest ones but those released in 2002-2004): Nick Warren, Deep Dish, Sander Kleinenberg, Dave Seaman, John Digweed, Sasha.

They've all released mixes on the Global Underground series: http://www.discogs.com/label/Global+Underground+Ltd.

My personal favourite: Nick Warren – Global Underground #024: Reykjavik

I can't listen to straight progressive for hours, but I do enjoy it peppered with techno, tech house, and even some breaks here and there.

I'm still a big Danny Howells fan. He has yet to dissapoint.
