Stuck On Earth presents Mardi Gras NYC style

Despite being an experience that was born deep in tradition, no one knows exactly how the Mardi Gras carnival came into being. Some scholars say it's origin can be traced to the orgies that were held in the Roman Empire - but then again, that could be pure speculation.
Nevertheless, we know that in the early 1700's the French of New Orleans were holding elaborate balls where guests were encouraged to wear a mask. But when the Spanish government took over, parties and street dancing were banned. Imagine that!
It wasn't until 1827, when Americans were in power, that the right to party in masks was restored, and with this new found freedom, elite parties began resurfacing again.
In many ways, this history parallels our own scene and culture and provides hope for our future. Come celebrate with us the joy that is music, and the spirit that is Mardi Gras!
