Education & Careers (E&C) started off as the College & University forum. It was originally created as a place for Bluelighters to discuss higher-education topics that may not otherwise fit in with another forum. Since then, it has expanded to encompass topics concerning all levels of education (from high school to advanced degrees), as well as the various themes and efforts involved in obtaining and maintaining a career. Topics should be related to college, university or other forms of education in some way or another, and/or to career questions, problems, advice, etc.
In E&C, we try to help one another by providing information on which classes may help you get through your academic program, living away from home, staying motivated, financial aid/scholarship help, employment after finishing your degree, how to manage the complications of your job, and many more topics.
All users are expected to follow the guidelines stated in the Bluelight User Agreement (BLUA). Any sort of illegal activity or suggestion of illegal activity is not allowed. For example, telling a minor to obtain a fake ID is not appropriate.
Harm Reduction
Harm reduction discussion is allowed in E&C and encouraged. However, if questions get too specific, your thread may be moved to another forum. If this is the case, you will be notified via PM that you thread was moved, where it was moved, and why it was moved. We feel that specific details regarding drug use and harm reduction may receive better attention in a more appropriate and specified forum.
Please try to refrain from suggesting substances to other users that may be used as a study aid. What works for you, may not work for others, and as mentioned before, we focus on harm reduction.
Search
Using the search feature may turn up many threads from your search query. Please feel free to browse through those threads first prior to creating your own thread.
By not using the search feature, you may miss valuable information that has been posted in the past by a user who is well versed in that particular topic.
Plagiarism & Homework
Plagiarism is defined stealing and passing off the work, words and or ideas as one's own work without giving credit to the source.
Do not ask to see other people's research, papers, homework solutions, etc. You are allowed to ask questions about topics, but do not ask to be sent another's work to help you with your research or assignments. Research and writing, along with turing hints and suggestions into submittable work, is to be done on your own. We all have to do it, and it is not fair for someone else to gain credit for someone else's hard work.
Asking for homework help is acceptable. This can be a touchy subject as the line between homework help and cheating/plagiarism is sometimes hard to draw. If you are having difficulty in a class, math for instance, asking for help or resources to help you figure out your problem is a valid request. Asking someone to provide you information for a paper that you are writing, or to simply work a problem from start to finish, is not. Think of BLers as your classmates, and first ask yourself if your teacher/professor would smile or frown upon the degree to whch you are seeing assitence before doing such. If you feel that your situation may be questionable, please feel free to contact one of the mods.
Respect
Please show respect and courtesy to others. We are not here to degrade other people about their decisions, where they choose to go to school, or start a flame war between users. Treat others how you wish to be treated, and be as helpful as possible. Remember, there are no stupid questions. Most of us were lost at one point in time in our academic career, and we are here to help others.
Deleting Threads
Please try not to delete your thread if your question has been answered. The questions you have asked and others have answered may be very beneficial to someone else at another time. There are no silly questions here in Education & Careers, so don't feel embarrassed.

Please, do check out some threads in our archive, and we cannot stress to search this forum enough. Questions regarding pharmacology, pharm tech, or the sort will be directed to the already existing threads, as these are very frequent topics here.
Please do NOT start roll call threads. We prefer not to have many, if any, of these threads for the fact that many of them go unnoticed. Roll calls should be made in the appropriate social forum located in either Australian Social, North & South American Social, or European Drug Discussion. You may also check the What College or University are you attending, what are you studying and why? thread to see if there are other users located in your area.

If you have a problem with anything related to this forum, please feel free to contact either of your very friendly moderators.
