John Lennon - Mind Games

We're playing those mind games together,

Pushing barriers, planting seeds,
Playing the mind guerilla,
Chanting the Mantra peace on earth,

We all been playing mind games forever,

Some kinda druid dudes lifting the veil.
Doing the mind guerilla,
Some call it the search for the grail,
Love is the answer and you know that for sure,
Love is flower you got to let it, you got to let it grow,

So keep on playing those mind games together,

Faith in the future outta the now,
You just can't beat on those mind guerillas,
Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind,

Yeah we're playing those mind games forever,

Projecting our images in space and in time,
Yes is the answer and you know that for sure,
Yes is the surrender you got to let it, you got to let it go,

So keep on playing those mind games together,

Doing the ritual dance inn the sun,
Millions of mind guerrillas,
Putting their soul power to the karmic wheel,

Keep on playing those mind games forever,

Raising the spirit of peace and love, not war,
(I want you to make love, not war, I know you've heard it before)

Also, the Gavin Rossdale version is really, really lovely.

lately i've been liking She Makes Me Fall Down by Buva. It's a sweet little romantic tune off the soundtrack The Heartbreak Kid.

Gary Taylor - Flirting With An Angel, now this song just makes me want to strip and makelove.
Sade - Your Love Is King
Camp Lo - Sparkle
Drake feat. Little Brother - Don't You Have A Man
Nelly & Kelly - Delima
Tyrone Taylor - Cottage In Negril, aww man... touches my <3

too many to mention but prolly my alltime favorite romance tune
UB40 - Guilty ;)

For me, Talking Heads 'This Must be the Place'. I've loved this track for most of my life. Gets me crying every single time.

This Must Be the Place

Of course, when 12 year old boys all around me were into Blondie or Kate Bush, I was surely into Tina Waymouth...

In the air tonight isn't a romantic song is it? I would have to say if you want a romantic song listen to Lionel Richie's version of "Lady." It isn't very old actually and it will give you chills if you let it. Check out Barbara Streisand's "Theme from Eyes of Laura Mars." She convinces even the harshest skeptic on that one. Classic rockers might like "Feel like makin love" by Bad Company? I prefer the newer acoustic version solo by Paul Rodgers. Old timers might mention "If lovin you is wrong" by Luther Ingram. Man he belts out the soul on that motown record. Anything by Barry White? But for me the ultimate romantic songs are by the old band Ambrosia. "How much I feel"...."Your the only woman"...."The biggest part of me." They just dont make songs like that anymore. Country twangers may suggest "Down on my knees" by Trisha Yearwood. Now there is a song with meaning!

Ahhh, John Lennon has pulled out some big guns on the romantic song front:

Woman

Woman I can hardly express,
My mixed emotion at my thoughtlessness,
After all I'm forever in your debt,
And woman I will try express,
My inner feelings and thankfullness,
For showing me the meaning of succsess,
oooh well, well,
oooh well, well,

Woman I know you understand
The little child inside the man,
Please remember my life is in your hands,
And woman hold me close to your heart,
However, distant don't keep us apart,
After all it is written in the stars,
oooh well, well,
oooh well, well,

Woman please let me explain,
I never mean(t) to cause you sorrow or pain,
So let me tell you again and again and again,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah)...

Love

Love is real , real is love
Love is feeling , feeling love
Love is wanting to be loved

Love is touch, touch is love
Love is reaching, reaching love
Love is asking to be loved

Love is you
You and me
Love is knowing
we can be

Love is free, free is love
Love is living, living love
Love is needed to be loved

The youtube video to the above song is just amazing - footage of John and Yoko http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GmVajkqLNU

Oh My Love

oh my love for the first time in
my life
my eyes are wide open
oh my lover for the first time in
my life
my eyes can see
i see the wind, oh i see the
trees
everything is clear in my heart
i see the clouds, oh i see the
sky
everything is clear in our world
oh my love for the first time in
my life
my mind is wide open
oh my lover for the first time in
my life
my mind can feel
i feel sorrow, oh i feel dreams
everything is clear in my heart
everything is clear in our world
i feel life, oh i feel love

and one more from the Beatles:

Something

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me
I don't wanna leave her now
I know I believe and how
Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me
I don't wanna leave her now
I know I believe and how
You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
I don't know, I don't know
Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me
I don't wanna leave her now
I know I believe and how

Ok this is a throw back to my rebel/greaser days but it still stands true. There was a doo wop group called the Bee Bops that did an a cappella english version of Sukiyai that was amazing...

"It's all because of you
I'm feeling sad and blue
You went away, now my life is just a rainy day
And I love you so
How much you'll never know
You've gone away and left me lonely.

Untouchable memories seem to keep haunting me
Love that's so true
That once turned all my gray skies blue
But you disappeared
Now my eyes are filled with tears
And I'm wishing you were here with me.

Soft with love are my thoughts of you
Now that you're gone I just don't know what to do.

If only you were here
You'd wash away my tears
The sun would shine
And once again you'd be mine all mine

In reality
You and I will never be
You took your love away from me.

If only you were here
You'd wash away my tears
The sun would shine
Once again you'd be mine all mine.

In reality
You and I will never be
Cause you took your love away from me, oh baby
You took your love away from me."

Aww, @ the Deth Cab for Cutie song, I'll Follow You into the Dark
Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love LOL
Bring on the Rain- not sure the artist..
The Cure - Picture of You, Lovesong, Without You, lots more from them
Chris Issac Somebodys Crying, Baby Did a Bad Thing, Heart Full of Soul..

I guess my overall number one love some I identify with most would have to be "How Soon is Now?" by the Smiths. Mmmm angsty.. LOL.

I'm in total agreement with Samadhi on this, for me it's the song that expresses such feelings perfectly (I also quite like Layla, which funnily enough is also about Patti Harrison-Boyd. She must be quite a woman! =D)

The sick & twisted wind up artist in me wanted to say something like NIN - Closer or The Dead Kennedys - Too Drunk To Fuck, but I resisted as Something is a really special song to me (has been as long as I can remember)
