Ok for the past 3 weeks i have been doing some horrifyingly putrid smelling blow offs and its really starting to bother me .Its got to the stage where its starting to effect my life . For example today i let one go and it stunk out the whole fucking floor where i work . I keep farting all the time and it only has to be a small one to be violent and stink out a large area .It so bloody embarrissing , exspecially when i fart around the girls at work .No one comes into my office anymore and some of my work mates ring me on the phone to ask me if i want coffee. They think its all a big joke but its not funny...

Ok so is there any one out there that may know what is wrong with me ? Any help ? I've tried changing my diet but that doens't seem to work .I'm dead serious by the way so please don't take the piss .
I've considered seeing a doctor but im a little ashamed . I guess its something that will have to be done.
Any help would be much appreciated

i doubt there is anything physically wrong with you, but i suggest you do something to flush out your system. See a doctor and i'm sure they'll know what to do. I would be more worried about my reputation at work as 'the bloke who farts all the time' than going to the doctor. A reputation for farting tends to stick...good luck!

You might have a gastrointestinal problem, for now take some ginger, that will help you with that problem.

It's possible that you may be suffering from IBS. Do you have bloating and/or abdominal pains as well? Diarrhea on a relatively regular basis? If so, it may be beneficial for you to have your abdomen examined for excessive fluid or inflammation. I would make an appointment to see a doctor. If it's really that bad that you're stinking up an entire floor on a regular basis, it sounds like you have some underlying issue that needs to be addressed.

What you can do is keep a log of ALL the foods you are consuming as well as what time you're consuming them, in addition to how often you're passing gas, and when your gas issues are the worst.

The human body can't digest and absorb some carbohydrates (like sugar, starches, and fiber) in the small intestine because of a shortage (or absence) of certain enzymes. Bacteria breaks them down in the large intestine, producing hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and (in some people) methane. When those gases are released, the methane is what causes the offensive odor. It's possible that your problem is the result of severe carbohydrate malabsorption or overactive bacteria in the colon.

It's likely that you're having an issue with foods that contain raffinose, lactose, fructose, and sorbitol. Activated charcoal capsules or digestive enzymes may help, but I'd honestly go get checked out just in case it's something more serious.

How is your digestion? Do you have bowel movements regularly? It definately sounds like some kind of digestive problem. Maybe consider seeing a specialist. They are professional, dont be embarressed! I also agree about giving digestive enzymes a try.

You should also reduce your protein intake.

1) Exercise. Do a 20 minute run/bike/whatever.
2) Stop drinking highly sugarized and carbonated drinks.

ShaDDow has the best advice here, IBS is a likely scenario and a log of food intake will help you out with some good indicators if you are too embarrassed to meet with a doctor.

Really think you should just bite the bullet though and go to a doctor. Just as MynameisnotDeja said - they are professional. It may be a little off and disgusting to you but I can guarantee you that within the past 5 days they have seen about a dozen more disgusting and embarassing issues than yours.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you should also look into your manners. Why are you farting in your office in the first place? Surely you can just go to the bathroom or outside of the building.

just something to think about.

Perfectly true and gave me no reason to read further before posting my own advice:

Get your stools sampled by a doctor or laboratory. It's not the most fun, nor the most glorious twenty minutes you'll spend, but with the results they'll obtain just by analyzing the contents of your shit, your life and digestive success may be forever changed. Trust me, and try it.

Namely animal protein.. especially red meat. If you cut out animal products (dairy is a big gas source for some people), you will notice a dramatic change..

trust me, my vegan friend blows fresh air and can't seem to compete with anyone in a stench war.

Are you possibly lactose intolerant? My whole family is, and you do NOT want to smell the room if we go out for ice cream and forget to take some Lactaid.... :D

1. try eating some yogourt, every day for a few days -- that may help restore the balance of bacteria in your gut, if that is what is off balance

2. activated charcoal can help absorb odour, it can be bought at health food stores usually

Chlorophyll is what i would recommend (or copper-chlorophyllin). It is a safe component of plants that is commonly used as an "internal deodorant". Peppermint oil eases digestion and is carminative (helps expel excess gas. Caraway might help. I hope this helps.
