Punk Fuckin Rock

oh yeah, and actually, punk ahppens to have some of the best drummers in the world within it's ranks:

Dru Stix: The Exploited

Josh Freese: The Vandals (and of course went onto be the drummer for a little band called 'A Perfect Circle' ;)).

josh freeze is awesome
i think he even drums for guns in roses sometimes

Yep! He fills in on there live shows.....

Extremely talented drummer, he seems to be able to play into any genre......He's got a few other bands too, can't remember there names though and haven't heard.

"I like music that is both pleasing to the ears and technically impressive, I have yet to hear ONE punk band that is impressive in terms of musicianship..."

You ever listen to Fugazi?
theyre fucking talented

lol I still have that list saved on my computer.....it's ginormous!

LMAO!!

You've COMPLETELY missed the entire point......

sub-par muscians, indeed, punk's all about bands who were around in the 70's; a bunch of kids who couldn't really play there instruments but were pissed off at the current social climate and so needed to rebel...music was an expression of all that, a vent......This created a unique , extremely energetic, and very fun genre called 'punk rock'!

Horay!

No I get the point I was just saying why I don't like it...

^^hey mushman1 i agree with u that there r alot of talentless punk bands out there(good charlotte, blink 182 etc.)

but there r some great bands that also have loads of talent like nomeanso(who play a wikked blend of jazz, classic rock and punk) and bad religion (nobody in the history of music has written more heartfelt meaningful lyrics than greg graffin IMO) so u shouldnt just base ur facts on the punk that uv heard but recognize the fact that there are some talented punk bands out there, u just have to search through the crap to find them :)

stark like that list a lot..... Bad Habit was one of my fav's back in the day. the old ones u listed very nice as well. Misfits!

^ in response to talentless punk bands... talk about how Corporate America has taken over shit... leave it to MTV to make a shitty band like Good Charlotte into another fucking fad that teenage girls cling to. Ugh...

i have always def liked good punk when i hear it...but its not somethign i really seek or know too much about....i dont really know who the good punk bands are

^ yeah it seems there is so much controversy on the subject of what punk is and is not...

YOU ARE TRYING TO BE SO PUNK BUT YOU SO ARE NOT PUNK

...this is the kind of stuff i hear, not towards me, but the whole thing is people who ARE "punk" are very judgemental towards those "trying" to be "punk." i just don't get it... i figure if i like the music then that's cool but modeling your lifestyle around a style of music that is so broadly-defined seems silly. silly punk people...

most punk rock bands just use the same chords from Louie-Louie....just faster and with distortion :) I-IV-V blues all the way!

Yeah... these guys rock big time.=D Was introduced to them by one of my friends and have loved them ever since. Couple of my fave tracks include Return of the Knucklehead and Club Stupid.....

yeah they rocked, i was introduced to them when i saw them on the second stage at Lollapalooza a few years back when Adrock from the Beastie Boys was still the bass player, the Beastie Boys played on the main stage that year

I love all 3 of there albums here is my favourite tracks from each album

My Crazy Life(Creamcheese and Hand Grenades, Dont Be a Kook and Nucklehead Nation)

Proud To Be(Home is where the heart is, Free Haircut, Action Everbody, Insane Authority)

Grateful(I usually just listen to the whole thing cuz it is all on one track anyway)

and Thought Control on Punk O Rama 2 is probably my favourite song but it isnt on anything else

Its to bad they broke up though :(

If u like DFL though youll probably like the Family Dog too, Monty the Guitarist from DFL started it but they only released one album b4 they broke up

STRUNG OUT. Damn I can't believe no one has heard of them. They have always had a metal edge with blazing fast guitar riffs and just stupid good lyrics. Jordan is the best drummer in punk (he really is). They have a new song on their website www.strungot.com called "lucifermotorcade". It's about Bush bringing death ad destruction to the world. In the early and mid 90s they were the best speed-punk band ever. A classic. You should get the song above as well as "wrong side of the tracks", "ultimate devotion" and "scarecrow" for a taste of their past. This is the only thing in life (between women, family, music friends etc...) that has ever moved me. They are one of a kind. Please check them out

thank you and peace.
