What did you think of this movie?

Nothing too special about this movie, except I loved it. The heist in this movie was fucking awsome. The way they did it was incredible. If you are looking for a good acton movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat SEE THIS.

My opinion may be a little biased considering Edward Norton is my favorite actor. But overall I'd just consider this movie to be "fun!"
 
The movie want bad. I downloaded a decent cam copy off the net. I wouldnt have been pissed if I had paid for it. The heist was great- the characters were decent. You can catch this playing at the bargain theatres now.
 
Yea i agree, it wasn't bad. Just a general fun movie to watch but not amazing.
 
for me, it's always hard not to compare a film like this with original on which it's based, rather than as a work in its own right.

i thought it was a pretty upbeat caper movie - i certainly wasn't bored.

Are you talking about a remake of the 1960's film? i didn't know there was one.

I really dig/dug the first one then. I'll always watch it if its on.
 
I thought this movie was pretty cool. If you liked Ocean's Eleven, you'd like this!

By far the best part of the movie is Charlize Theron...
 
I didn't see this with great expectations but was pretty surprised and actually enjoyed it. A fun movie that didn't make me think to much.
Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors though and I didn't like seeing him play such an arsehole of a character.
 
The ending was fantastic, and overall it was a well cast movie. Thoroughly entertaining but not much more than that.

basix -- I agree, it made me kind of sad!
 
He only did the film due to contract negotiations... He'd turned down so many roles previously that the studio basically told him he had to make this film.
 
mini cramming record

so after the heist there's the expected big chase scene.

within the plot the minis have been heavily modified for the event...

however, they expect me to believe that modified minis can perform like that with 27 hundred pounds of gold in the back... each!! neh.

rediculous... theyre doing jumps, 180 handbrakies not to mention the accelaration.

mini with 15 people in it = sluggish at the best.
 
^ it's fiction - you sometimes need to suspend disbelief and just sit back and allow the movie to entertain you.

if movies were limited to be 100% factually accurate, they wouldn't be very interesting would they?

I agree it was entertaining, Ed Norton was again brilliant. I do however, prefer the original. Michael Caine is a screen legend. I'm glad the remake wasn't just a 100% remake like Psycho, it was a fairly different movie in it's own right, helped along by the new Mini's - I don't think it would have been remade had there not been a new release of these.

He's using the same character that he used in the SCORE. Which by the way is a terrible movie!!!!

I bet Edward Norton was excited to be in a similiar role with the same plot line where he gets to use the same character 2 years later.
That's probably why he turned down so many movie offers was because he still remembered the script from the Score.

None the less, watching the Italian Job was still thrilling but I kinda felt like I "Knew" who was the bad guy way ahead of time.
 
i just caught this now....
i would say it is typical... except the way the heists are pulled off is more imginative than most follow the formula acation movies
i thought over all it was a fun movie, not spectacular or deeply touching just fun. good enough to watch.
 
I thought this movie was awsome and I think that it will make everyone want a mini copper..;)

Agreed! Yay for South African grlzzz!

I loved the pace of this movie, and the scenes with the mini's just made me want to go driving around like a maniac. Pure escapism! (sp?)
 
I love this style of movie and thought it was fairly well done while not being anything special..
