Misc Dxm Disappointment

So at around 3:20pm I took around 300mg of Wal-Tussin Long Acting-Cough (Dxm only active ingredient). Drunk like state started around 4:00pm and basically just stayed at that level. I didn't see anything or didn't feel anything too intense. My head felt lighter or like a sort of pressure. So I decided to wait till 7:00pm at the latest for any intense effects and none came. I'm curious as to why nothing happened? Perhaps my dosage was too small for my weight?(190lbs, 5'11) Or maybe because I ate a banana and 2 strawberries shortly after consuming the dxm? I was pretty disappointed and I'm willing to try again in a higher dose in the near future. I'm new here so I'm not sure if this belongs here so sorry if it doesn't! Any answers are appreciated!
