IMO this film should be the big winner at the Oscars


....seeing that it comes out on the 25th this is pure speculuation...;)

Just caught this tonight. (I can see into the future as well ;) )

I thought it was fantastic, the story line isn't quite accurate, but it makes for a pretty good film.

The cinematography and photography in this movie are amazing.

I haven't said "wow" out loud while watching a movie in years, and i said it a few times.

Just got back from watching this. The cinematography is phenomenal.. those tracking shots create such an intense and intimate environment. I felt totally immersed in everything that was happening.
 
Could this be DiCaprio's chance at his first Oscar?

I mean, who are his potential rivals?
 
I would have thrown up if Spotlight had taken it over the Revenant. Spotlight was a great movie, but lets be honest, seriously overrated. As far as Leo winning the Oscar...I'd say yeah, this is his year. If he doesn't win for this role, I'd tell tell the Academy to shove any future nominations up their ass and just forget about it.
 
I'm surprised Sicario didn't even make the nominee list for Best Drama?

I think Leo has this in the bag, but then I thought he had it multiple times before too.

Great cinematography, directing. Don't know where I read it but I agree --- the beginning did hark to a certain Private Ryan flick. DiCaprio was awesome. Enjoyed this one more than QT's latest.

Some of the shots also reminded me of the latest season of Fargo with the pristine white snow shots...

Same, by a mile. I didn't even know what the film was about before I saw it, I hadn't seen any ads or read any hype. I saw H8full 8 first, thought it was ok. Then this film came out of nowhere as I randomly selected to watch it.

Yeah, me too. Saw QT first and then just decided to watch this with no prior knowledge.

Kinda wanna watch Birdman now.
